why does a profile say someone is offline when you know they are online, in fact you are chatting with them in the chatroom?

It annoys me too but it must be difficult to maintain that option when you have thousands of people losing the site and people loggin on/off every ten seconds x

Some people don't log onto the forum when in chat, or if they do they don't use it and after 25 mins or so the system logs people out smile

And some people have chosen to "appear offline" when they are logged in

Im sure if used to show if someone was in the chatroom or summut at one time?

Anais, not sure if this is still the case but here is the response from admin 21/2 on the issue:
The feature has been de-activated for a number of days I am afraid. You may recall the 'whos online' feature that was linked from the home page and also a link was placed under the 'Site Stats'. This feature is the brain of the information which is shown on your profile.
As the whos online feature has been de-activated for maintenance, the offline notice is shown on all profiles on the site. Elliot is currently working on the feature and we hope that it will be back as soon as possible.
