hi,
sorry this may only be relevent to those in cornwall at the moment.
we had the digital switchover take place this week.
prior to the full switch over i had normal tv and the free view with digital ariel.
normal tv was ok, freeview was alot clearer but sometimes would go sticky (?) especially if a bloody moped went by.
well since the switch over the freeview picture is bloody crap. its fuzzy. much much worse than any previous normal tv picture.
ive emailed the digital people, but no reply.
i wondered is it just me experiencing this? is it likely to get better? if not why all the fecking switchover if the picture is crappier than before?
sorry to bore those this does not effect.

I'm guessing it may be because the digital signal is now coming from a different transmitter. Can't imagine why - but it would explain the fuzziness. Changing the frquency (or whatever digital uses) would mean some or all wouldn't work at all.
I think we get switched (Derbyshire) in 2012 so I'm hoping all these problems will be sorted by then. But I'm on Sky anyway (until they push the price up again).
You may just need to move your aerial (around or up) or get a more powerful one. Would it be useful to contact your local digital/aerial installer (independent) and get their advice?
are you using an aerial you've had for years?
If so you might need a new digital high gain aerial if they've switched off a local transmitter and you're now receiving on a different transmitter, or it may just need the direction changing.
If you have to get a new aerial then make sure you ask for a televes aerial as they are the dogs danglies in digi sticks.
of course it may just be as simple as retuning your tv/digibox wink

It could be the fact that you make need a new aeriel or like foxy suggested... a booster aerial, they only cost 10-15 quid........
if you go onto to teletext on any of the 4 major channels and type page 284 they can do an aeriel test.....
hope it helps......
