I used to like you MrsFC :giggle:
I know what you mean though, most people who know me on here might not believe that I like Andrea Bocelli and other opera. I also like a lot of popular classical music.
I will listen to anything really except jazz, never really been able to get into it confused

Variety is the spice of life.
I listen to an online radio station, whilst I'm working, called Radio Paradise. The playlist takes variety to a new level. It's the only place I know where you can hear 30 mins of The Cure, The Who, The Verve, Radiohead, Metallica, The Smiths, following by Louis Armstrong, Dave Brubeck, Buddy Holly, assorted American Country (features fairly heavily) with even the odd classical track thrown in for good measure.
A well written/crafted song with a decent melody is good regardless of the genre, in my opinion. Manilow has written some half decent songs as have the Bee Gees but some people wouldn't dare say they liked either of them as they ain't hip and trendy. I'm equally at home listening to Woman in love by Barbara Streisand as I am listening to Ace of Spades by Motorhead.........and proud of it.

Yeah ok But MANILOW!!!!
My record collection includes heavy stuff such as Rammstein, Metallica, Stone Sour, Slipknot, Korn et al through to the Carpenters, John Martyn, Ray LaMontagne and James Morrison. I've got a huge collection of dance and ambient cds ( Infected Mushroom, Enigma, Cafe Del Mar, Buddha Bar etc ) plus the entire catalogue of Queen, REM, U2 and Bon Jovi ( Dai flipa )
I listen to Snow Patrol, Keane, The Lyres, Velvet Underground, World Music ( Ofra Haza, Music From The Lonely Planet etc ). MTV Dance is the most played channel on my tv followed closely by Scuzz and Kerrang and ocassionally the Classical channel so my music taste is as eclectic as it gets.
I hasten to add, you will NOT find r&b or rap ( Eminem being the exception here ) confused
My mood or what I'm doing at the time dictates what I listen to.
btw, Enigma is perfect for shagging to

Les miserables :

I remember seeing this briefly on the tv and was hooked with the small amount that I saw.........It is very rare for me to see something that is sooooo alien to me, as I was never brought up with plays like this or tenors. This is why I'm flabagastered to find that I love this kind of music.
Mind you I love Charles Dickens cool
