Not blowing my own trumpet(pun intended he he) I promise but..let's take the last SH guy I was with..he looked at me all red faced and heart pumping and asked "how, HOW, did you get so good at it, I didn't even feel the need to thrust.." ahem cough cough (I'm sure he'll happily provide references to anyone who thinks he was just massaging my ego!)
Two things I reckon:
1- I Looooooove doing it.

The main thing to remember is - what you see on the porn films is BAD oral. It's mostly a soggy wank.

I think enjoying it and wanting to please the man/woman you're with is the most important thing. There are few things that turn me on as much as going down on a man or a woman until they climax, so I always make sure that the person I'm with enjoys what I'm doing. Of course, good technique is important too! I think the key is to vary techniques and be responsive to the person you're with.
And, on the flipside, I think the number one thing that makes for bad oral is feeling like the person doing it isn't really enjoying it, or is just going through the motions.

Ive had a mixed bag with Woman and me down there.
