Hi folks
I have been persuaded to start a blog about my recent life, (long story won't bore you) and after a lot of ummming and arrrring have decided it's probably a good idea.
trouble is i have absolutely no idea where to start and the type of blog i'm thinking about will need a few special features so just looking for some advice really.
many thanks
Pete
what, no one at all? dunno
( shamless bounce :bounce: )
Wordpress is very popular:
Depends what you mean by special features though pete!
I'm not a blogger but I have been known to keep a diary.
I'm keeping one for each of my children for when they reach 21. Actually I better hurry up because the eldest hits it next year bolt
Pete, I'd have to agree that Wordpress is probably the best option, you can customise it as you wish and it can either be hosted by wordpress or via an external server.
Blogspot is a simpler version.
Thanks guys
I'm trying to put a blog together for friends and family charting my progress (not my idea) so they can all keep up without constantly bombarding my mail box, it's taking me absolute ages to keep replying to everyone and someone suggested that if i keep an online daily blog, folk who are interested can just log in and take a peep.
Good idea? yeah I thought so too, but here's the rub.....
Living the lifestyle I do, giving everyone the same blog address could turn out to be a little embarrassing, there are vanilla friends, vanilla family :scared: vanilla romantic interests even, and then there’s a whole bunch of people from the lifestyle that have also asked to be kept up to date, so i guess what I’m looking for is a facility where I can setup who can see who, who can read who's comments etc etc.
I know no-one would set out deliberately to drop me in it with say my family, but sometimes comments are made in the heat of the moment (or the haze of the vodka) that are far too blatantly obvious.
so you see my dilemma, I’d like to 'bloggit', it would certainly save me several hours each evening answering individual mails, but I’d need total control over who sees who and what.
did any of that make any sense whatsoever? dunno
sounded ok in my head and I’m sober rolleyes
Not sure if there's a blogging facility on Facebook but you can set the privacy options to decide who sees what. I know there's a blogging facility on MySpace but I'm not sure about the privacy settings. Might be worth checking out. wink
Pete hun, why don't you do two blogs one for vanilla's one for swingers and just copy the same blog each time you do one into both?

The thought had crossed my mind, but it's a bit more complicated than that redface
Not to worry, I'll check out the suggested sites and see what they have to offer kiss
Thanks all wave

Or this one. Just sign up for a Google account and then go to:

No need to add/allow people access, vanilla or otherwise, they just browse the link you create your blog on biggrin
I've used blogger. Seems fairly easy to use - i.e. if I can, anyone cane! rolleyes
