We bought a Sterilising Kit today. Just to be clear, this is for sterilising baby's bottles NOT people (though Sappho keeps making unpleasant snipping signs at me every time she has a pair of scissors in her hands    :shocksmile. Frankly, the amount of equipment we are having to buy is frightening - but I guess other SH parents will know what we mean. Incidentally, Sappho IS intending to breast feed but bearing in mind that there are going to be two of the little darlings she figured that they may need a bit of a boost from time to time.
The really perplexing thing was the blurb on the side of the sterilising unit:
"For sterilising bottle and breast feeding equipment"
BREAST FEEDING EQUIPMENT????? Isn't that errrrm, breasts? dunno
Dear God, is poor Sappho going to have to dangle her tits over this electrical steaming unit for eight minutes before every feed? Steamed breasts? I am beginning to wonder if I should do some asparagus tips and Hollandaise sauce to go with them rotflmao
Will
For two very small people who haven't even arrived yet, they are already taking up an astonishing amount of space.
Nipple covers, pumps, storage bottles!!!
Oh mate you've got some fun experiences coming your way as a new dad!!!
Good luck to all four of you.
LIGHT SABRES
you should have bought the BLOODY LIGHT SABRES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sterilising equipment is for wimps wink

LOL someone looking forward to Episode III I see ;) (From a dad who owns 3 light sabres, for the kids you understand)
Will mate, all will become clear but right now enjoy the fact breasts don't need sterilising, they always around with mum and ready to keep little nippers full. Wonderful things they are, except for mastitis (spelt badly), I hope you never have to go through that.
Best of luck with the sterilisers mate, look forward to those great stages or parenting:
1. They get this winding thing sorted
2. They can hold their own bottle (so you can finally get blood pumping round your arm not hold thing dead still 20 hours per day)
3. They can feed themselves
4. They can dress themselves
5. They stop wearing nappies and you don't have to be involved in the smelly bit any more
6. They grow up and leave home ;)
Ok so I missed talking, but after 4 hours of 'I want' you will wish so did they sometimes ;) Oh and walking, so easy when they stay where you put them down and not move to insert the jam sarnie in the video player... hehe...
What Littlemee said
Nipple shields, storage jars for expressed breast milk, breastpump, those funny discs that you put in the bra to collect surplus breastmilk...although i honestly can't see her needing it that soon after having the babies...
smile :)

Ah well just think your gonna be able to view 2 very plump and tender breasts if she does lol
Just be there to comfort her when they get teeth and try to bite her nips off :scared:
Thanks for the good wishes everyone.
Wilma - Never mind her ankles her entire feet (including the toes) are swollen at the moment. Poor love. She still looks damned sexy to me though!! :inlove:
I will post a fuller update on another thread.
