is that you're either waiting for someone to say something or you're just "bouncing" of the other person, like I and a few other of the "comedy members" do. For whatever reason we've just started a natural rapport and we seem to think along the same lines, so we naturally post "towards" each other. It's nothing personal against anyone, it's just what we do to try and make ourselves (and maybe everyone else) laugh.

That is exactly it,its the bouncing off each other and the in jokes that the rest of the forum dont know about that weve been getting you are all bouncing off each other anyone else doesnt get a look in and are if they do try they get overlooked.
We realise this isnt done on purpose,but it can be taken the wrong way.
I like the fact that no one has had a bitch or taken offence to what weve put,coz it was never meant for had some really good responses (more than we could have imagined) and some really nice pm's.

Back to the topic as I seem to have missed this one previously:
My views on the "in crowd" have changed somewhat. When I was new to the site it did feel like there was an "in crowd" but now I've been here a bit longer I've realised that it's just part of life. Not everyone will get on with each other - if that happened it'd be a boring place. There are always going to be people who click and who have a bit of banter in the forum - maybe it should be left to PM or maybe not - that's for them to decide. If I see that happening I do tend to shy away from it as it's between those people and normally I have no interest or don't understand what's being said anyway!
I've posted threads where I've put a lot of thought into it and I've had a small number of responses or none (recently and when I first joined). Now, this does make me question whether I'm welcome here sometimes (normally when I'm having a crap day) but after 2 minutes the self pity gets lost and I'm replying to other threads and joining in. I even forget I've posted a thread sometimes!
Clare and Steve - I always saw you two as part of the "in crowd" when I joined so it's surprising to see that you feel a little left out sometimes.
I'm sure we all go through that at some point and some of us are a little more sensitive than others but I think this thread has proved that you two are well liked and respected among the SH gang.

I really cannot see what is wrong with a bit of banter. The suggestion that it should be relegated to PMs destroys what is for me one of the best features of the site. OK sometimes it can become a little cosy on occasions but so what - read something else FFS.
