following on from the custard thread, what's the oldest best before date you have in your cupboards? sorry, you might have to leave the PC for this one, therapy available on request ;)
Please note whether you intend to bin or eat the food with this date on, and please be honest biggrin
Mine is indeed my custard, which is marked April 2002....oh happy days, I remember the girlfriend who made me buy it...she's gone, the custard remains!
When I moved house I found a six year old jar of my mum's home made plum jam at the back of the cupboard. It had fermented somewhat, but was very nice. smile
Nothing at all is out of date in my cupboards. I go through them all regularly checking best before dates :smug:
Can't say the same about what's in my wardrobe though :lol2:

you know, if you stop that and check the stuff as it comes out of the cupboard you'd have a spare hour or so...which I'm sure I could help you fill...;)

Never keep things long enough for them to go out of date in the fridge but my mum once gave me a garlic baguette (the frozen kind in the plastic paper you leave it in while cooking!) I forgot to take out of my bag and put it in the freezer when i came home and gawd knows how many months later when i found it it was a plastic bag of green powdered mould!! Eeeek
My wee granny once had 10 Years past the use by date laxatives which she took and passed out with bloody lucky she didnt do more damage!! 10 Fecking Years as well confused
Some of the corner shops can have some vintage booze at vintage prices. I nearly bought a bottle of ..........Hirondelle................ recently, just for a laugh. It would have been nearly 30 years old.
