Its a great shame sad
What a great man, with a great voice and talent. He brought opera to the masses. RIP.

Just watched the Concert in the Park on BBC2.. what a performer - the likes of which we will never see again.
He was a world treasure. He brought so much happiness to so many people and did so much good in his life.
He'll never be forgotton.
There's a tribute prog on tele right now.
I was never a great fan... although appreciate the chaps work and all that jazz...
My Father had a great appreciation of certain tunes by the Pav though... I've come over a little reflective... we played some at his funeral... don't worry though,it'll only last as long as this post... then all reflectiveness will evapourate... and I shall think of something else to say, probably daft, elsewhere.

It is very sad. He did bring opera to the millions and he will be greatly missed.
Thats right LP, the tribute shown after the news.
A great man with a great voice. Saluta.

Quite sad isnt it!
I would have loved to have seen him Bath a few ago.....but couldn't afford it at the time!! He did some good tunes! Specially loved him when he did the Three Tenors.....
Yeah he had such a great voice and R.I.P top him. It brought back memories of his childhood when I was watching a thing about him on the news today cos my dad used to listen to him a lot.

Opera is a huge undertaking. Its a massive feast of culture. Opera doesn't come to millions as and when you imagine it does. Its a big thing.
Nessun Dorma is one song in one opera, by one composer. Would anyone like to wax lyrical about anything else? Just exactly what language are you going to use?
Luciano Pavarotti was an exceptional tenor. He worked at his craft and he produced many many things. Most of which we have no idea about. But he reached us undoubtedly, largely towards the end of a long voyage.
He was also very aware of the legacy of opera, and that it goes on. So if you are in any way interested in it, look about and keep you ears open. I think he would want that.
I thought this was a great shame also, I love his music and get really emotional when I hear him sing.
I hear HMV as a tribute are knocking a tenor off his CD's
confused Where's my coat? bolt
