Why is it so popular, and why is it still among the most common taboos, the hiring of the services of a prostitute? Is it just a way of getting laid without entering into any kind of relationship? Your views please, I know there's much wisdom to be shared. wink
I hasten to point out that it is unlawful to advertise sex for sale in the u.k., as it is unlawful to be seen to "offer" to pay money to aquire sex. I mention that in light of some posts which appear in "meet up" or chatroom headings from time to time. We wouldn't want our members to fall foul of the S.H. Police!
The powers that be should just legalise prostitution. As long as the person providing the service is consenting, why not? Would make it a safer practice for all those concerned. I imagine for some it must be a lot easier than going through the rigmarole of dates flowers and chocolates only to find that, actually the person you've being wooing does "like you that way", "wants to be friends" or "ran off with the milkman" (delete as appropriate)
Cant really see what all the fuss is about, aside from the financial side-dogging I suppose would be considered similar as in ad hoc, unplanned and fleeting encounters purely for the physical and not emotional connection. (am not saying doggers are prostitues before anyone starts lol )
I suppose there is also then the ability to "choose" your fantasy partner (to a degree) in terms of body shape, hair colour etc, which might not be something available to you on the free market so to speak
I dont understand why it is so , the parts of prostitution that are are created by it being forced underground by being illegal IMO. Legalise, regulate, tax it, enjoy it
End waffle
I reckon you answered your own question in part Skinny as paying for sex is and is horny in its illicitness.
I guess the idea of paying for sex is a and a no no for me is that I believe that its one of the last things that one person can give to another freely and willfully and for that reason having sex with someone else is a privilege and makes, and should make, one feel special. Paying for it is an emotionless transaction therefore just acquired.
For others the detachement might very well be a factor as well as possibly the idea they maybe doing it behind their partners back could also be a bit of a kick. Maybe living out fantasies that they have that their partners won't/can't indulge. Other times we might just need sex, after all most of us have sexual needs, and if there's no other option freely available otherwise. Then paying for it makes it available but not freely.
Although its not something I have ever partaken of, its so obviously going to continue that we do need to look at it and soon.
Having worked all over europe I have seen various solutions, none of which are perfect but most of which are better. I have never seen the higher class escorts, call girls and brothel workers in this country, but the number of diseased streetwalking smackheads is a disgrace, they need help and treatment, not the continuing enabling and harrasment of the current system.
I have visited europes largest brothel on the outskirts of cologne, it has nightclubs, professionals and lapdancing bars all mixed together over 12 floors - its mental - bankoks finest ladyboys have nothing on the occupants of the top floor
