Erm, just plug it back in?
That clearly didn't work though, so I'm confused. If my USB keyboard or mouse become disconnected whilst the PC is on that works for me. Failing that, power down, make doubly sure it's all plugged in and power up.
But I'm guessing you've tried that too.
Puzzling.
Hi Judy,
Did someone disable USB as in remove the driver or the device from the system?
Have you got a PS2 keyboard as a backup?
Does this sound like issue?
These are the drivers for the USB mouse and USB keyboard. These mice and keyboards are shipped with the Packard Bell eMove systems after August 2000. These drivers solve an issue where Windows cannot detect the USB mouse during device detection after first boot. At this stage, the USB keyboard is not yet present, so user interaction is not possible. Besides copying the required driver files to the appropriate locations on your hard drive, a modification is done to the system registry enabling correct detection of the USB mouse.
EDIT: Need to know versions and make of your PC so I can try and find right drivers, looks like you not the only one to hit this.
Aha, we get closer:

At least it is now seeing the USB controller, but it wont install the drivers (from the PBell website) saying it cant find the software
Come on fellow techies, google no help so calling on you lot... HELP!!!
