Someone in chat got me thinking he spelled Private "privit" of course, privits were the choice of councils to line garden borders, well; at least in liverpool,
I love the smell of Privat blossom, it's sweet, very very sweet smell seems to encompass my childhood summer days completely; i'm almost able to summon that smell by closing my eyes and inhailing;
What smell really takes you to a happy place or somewhere from childhood?
I know, someones going to say reminds them of dogging lol ah well ...tone lowered in anticipation lol
      Estee Lauder's Youth Dew....a really thick heavy perfume reminds me of my nana who always wore it.
when we went to her house full of cabinets filled to the brim of interesting ornaments and knick knacks that, to a small child was like an alladins cave filled with wondrous treasures
      Imperial leather soap always makes me think of my nan's, was the only soap she used.
It's nice when a smell triggers a memory of youth takes me back to happy times.

      A new jigsaw
Nurse Dinnifords(?) Colic medicine
The plastic pants that went over babies' nappies
Dusty, dirty smelly ice-cream vans, after it had rained and the sun was drying the van out
And ooh the best smell ever - when our dad used to come in from the pub, you could smell the beer and
the cigarette smoke, and he was happy.
Good topic Joe Wally!
      The smell of seaweed always takes me back to childhood holidays on Winchelsea Beach. No matter which part of the coast I visit these days, as soon as I smell it I am reminded of that time.
Especially of an occasion when I slipped quietly out of the caravan while my mum and dad and sister where still asleep. It was about half five in the morning and I just sat alone on the beach clad only in shorts and a tee shirt. It was cold. I drew my knees up to my chest and just stared at the waves crashing onto the pebbles. It was the only sound I could hear. There wasn't anyone else around. It was one of those special moments that I'll never forget.
      TCP, all those cuts and grazes from being a realkid and exploring making dens, riding my boxer. ( the bike not dog lol)

      A particular pipe tobacco. Cherry Rub or some such name. My Grandpa used to smoke it. I remember he would turn his pipe upside down if it was raining (when he was outside) to keep the tobacco dry. He died when I was 8.
