Remove the steam room, and the forum would be overrun with rants, self-seeking "pity me" threads, and lots of individual smatterings of negativity.
Individual smatterings of negativity are far more difficult to avoid than one big collective negative blob.
Maybe there should be a smiley happy sticky. It would be far less negative to campaign for something positive, than to create negativity by complaining about something that's negative in a positive way.
Of that, I'm positive. wink

No, the Steam room is just emptied on a regular (ish) basis - whereas the smile thread is just left to run. The Steam room has been running for almost three years - the smile thread since June this year.

No, the Steam room is just emptied on a regular (ish) basis - whereas the smile thread is just left to run. The Steam room has been running for almost three years - the smile thread since June this year.
i dont think its a competition which has more or the other nor the duration its been on the forum,but am sure smiley has had more replies as comprare to steamroom from june

Your perception is that the smile thread is used more. Some people like the Steam room. As has been said, just ignore the thread if you don't like it. I've ignored the poetry thread for ages - don't read it since I started reading miserable, depressive stuff in there. However, I think it should be left stickied, as it's obviously popular.

Mods used to clear it out but the lovely St3v3 often takes charge of the steam room now.
St3v3 just likes something to do between the rod dangling rolleyes
I'm happy with the stream room because it keeps all the angry shouting stuff all in one place :thumbup:
