we have some old pics on print we want to put on digi card or disc, ok so have been told that as we still have the negatives we can get it done, but where ?
all high street places wont thats for sure, also how much would we expect to pay each pic?
thanks xxx
You could just get your pics developed again and then scan them... Maybe you have a scanner or know someone with one?
If the pictures are still in good condition try scanning them saving them to a pc then storing on a digi card or disk? (I would use both methods and store them to an external hard drive as disks do tend to stop reading eventually)
Asda and such places also will put pictures on a disk for you,
If they are *personal* pictures I'm sure there is places online that do them from negatives.
thanks will check the interenet, did not really want to send them off to strangers. kinda preffered it if someone could reccamend a company. but will look anyway.
scanning does not give digital qualitly, may try it tho.
thanks xxx
Geek possibly....correct definately
just to point out. the 4800 dpi you speak of is the resoulion of the scanner sensor. if you tried scan full 4800 a4 on one of those cheap office scanners it would take about 3 hours.
Most scanning bureau's are set up for high volume scanning and printing. The ones that do one off photo to digital are either VERY specialised or taking advantage of the fact that you don't know better.
So as meat2pleaseu say's. one ofthose cheap flatbed scanners will do the job well enough. just crank it up to max. You can touch it up with photoshop or gimp afterwards.
