go to the top of the window and ull see search,members,profile etc.... click on profile and then browse for ure pick please note i think the max is 102x102 pixels

Go to your profile, choose an avatar you like or a pic of your own (less than 102 x 102 pixels) and submit the changes. If your pic is too big you can resize it using JQL's resizing program.

Are there any restrictions on avatar content? The upload section only mentions the size constraints, but doesn't say what can and can't be shown in the picture.
Not that I'd upload anything offensive (except my generous manly frame), but I just wanted to be sure.
