I let slip in the chatroom that I was playing SimCity - and was called a saddo!
But I do like games where you create rather than shoot the shit out of things (just for a change).
Games I have enjoyed playing have been ones such as:
Theme Park World
Civilisation - though I admit once I had developed my country as much as I could, I build an army and committed genocide in every other nation (resulting in me ruling the world)
So I am now Mayor of San FranPolo, Polo City and New Polo with a view to constructing Las Polo in another adjoining region.
Am I alone in enjoying this type of game?
Do people still use the word "saddo"?
My kids love playing them kind of games....Zoo Tycoon and Empire Earth are the ones at the moment!
I used to really enjoy playing Theme Park, although my favourite genre of game is the Final Fantasy kind. I like to piece together information and solve puzzles as well as fight battles.
Sometimes, tho, a game along the lines of Resident Evil is the only thing to play................if it moves, kill it! biggrin

I do wink
To actually answer the question though, I would love a super fast Pc or game station to play all kinds of games on, Sim City though would not be one of them. I just can’t get exited by building a city. The Sims/Simms is another one I just don’t understand the attraction of. dunno
On the other hand give me a fast pc with good, no great graphics and a flight sim full of the “bally Hun” to stalk and I’m lost for hours (or would be if I had one). :bounce:
Its all relative though in the end, I do things that make Polo’s "Saddocity" pale into insignificance. redface

Sim City is a fantastic game, not played for a while though i may now you bought it up lol
Its nice to have a leisurly game now and then where you have to think about things and control the outcome with thought.
The only shoot em up type games i like are space types such as Star Wars type games.

I love that game! Age Of Empires is another ( although I thought Age Of Mythology was apile of poo ) Rise of Nations, Baldurs Gate, Icewind Dale etc etc
Bring it on!
I used to play the original board game that Civilisation was based on - an 8 player game of which would normally last 24-36 hours. I do still have it on the shelf downstairs, but can't ever imagine finding enough time to play it again, unless we end up snowed in or something like that.
I haven't heard of it sorry.
But if you enjoy it then good luck and have fun reigning the land of POLO
lol

Do you find that having an advertising budget really works?
