Pounding Headache

I have got the mother and father of a headache today. It isn't just refusing to shift, it's unpacked its bags and is sitting on the sofa with its feet up.
I do get headaches occasionally but nothing like this.
The only thing I can possibly think may have caused it is that over the last couple of days I have started drinking loads of water. T'other half is always moaning at me about the amount of coffee and coke I drink so I've been trying an alternative.
Am I barking up the wrong tree, or could the change in drinking habits be to blame?

more water with it hun drinkies
seriously though, it might, the brain so i'm told absorbs quite a lot of what we drink daily. so a drastic or sudden change may well have an effect.
i wonder if a sudden lack of caffeine (sp) might have anything to do with it dunno
Lissa,
My sympathies are with you today, as I'm suffering with a migraine.

Sounds very much like a detox reaction, had a fair few female friends try the detox kits every january  and get similar symptoms. Spose you could try some caffine to see if it settles it, i stopped drinking normal tea about 2 years ago as i was having bad insomnia again, so now it's decaf and nothing after 7pm (still sit on SH till 2am though redface )
For headaches try using some lavendar oil massaged gently into your forehead above each eye and a little spot just under your nose if you don't want to take Neurofen or anything like that
You could be right there Pete. I tried that stupid Atkins diet a few years ago and the lack of caffeine gave me the mother of all headaches for days
Lissa, all I can suggest is painkillers ( Brufen if you can take them ) a lie down in a dark quiet room ( there's a few empty beds in the sick bay hunni ) and sleep it off. Sitting in front of the pc isn't helping one bit so switch it off and get yourself to bed.
Hope you feel better soon hun :therethere:

No, mine are with you. Compared to a full-blown migraine, this is just a minor inconvenience

You STILL got it hunni? :therethere:
Another one who shouldn't be looking at a pc screen poke
The sick bay's getting quite full today
Just done a bit of research and it sounds as if Meat and Sassy have nailed down the cause.................it sounds like a detox reaction.
Good eh, you try to do something that benefits your body and end up feeling worse biggrin
I used to get headaches nearly every other day when I smoked, now they are rare but when I get a bad one its a stinker... I normally take two paracetamol, two iprobufen (only if you are OK to do so mind) and mountains of water. Sometimes headaches can be associated with dehydration (esp. after the night before mmmm lovely! )
My advice is only if you are allowed to take those tablets.
Failing that, try a quick fumble and tumble in the marital bed, that used to help me also! Nothing like a good orgasm to clear the head lol hump
Hope it lifts soon hun x
