Pre Munch/Social research...

...just wondering if I am the only one who spends the weeks leading up to a Munch/Social making a mental list of all the people I want to put faces-to-profiles/posts?
For me it is one of the best things about going to a social or munch, the chance to meet in person the people whose profile or posts have intrigued or amused you.
Unfortunately due to finances and work stuff, I haven't been able to attend as many as I would like this year. lol

Still, it just means that my people-to-meet at Bolton list is getting longer!!
So, what're your tactics pre-Munch? Do you trawl the profiles, do you make a mental list... or am I the only pre-Munch perver?! redface

I am definately a pre-munch perve but I think you already know that wink

but I do it in the nicest possible way!
I love meeting people at socials and munches and always try and guess who people are as they come through the door, and also just love to faces to names.
Also, I do know quite a few people who wont even arrange any swinging meets unless they have had the chance to meet someone at a social/munch. It just makes the chance of a meet more likely, and also helps with any pre-meet nerves if you at least have an idea who the person is, and what they look like :wink:

Cause I hadnt been to specsavers then :lol:

Do you know NWC, I never thought about it like this... all the more reason for people to get their names down then really!! Must admit I have made some great friends after meeting folk at Munches... and had some naughtiness too! :twisted:

I always make sure I print out a list of all the members attending and I bring the list with me to look at before the munch. I do a certain amount of checking through profiles as well, just to make sure I know something about people I don't already know.
Sadly it's not always that I get to chat with all the people I would like to chat with at a munch, but at least I know who they are as they fly past me on their way to chat with other people!

I have known people turn up to a munch or social with a list they have printed and a highlighter pen.
They then make an effort to go and find everyone on that list and have a chat to them!! a wonderful idea and well worth doing, so you don't miss people out who you want to meet and talk to.

i met a few that was on my *would like to meet* list last night checking profiles and pics so made sure i could reconise a few (not that i ever remember n have to be told several times) rolleyes

Yes, I do think socials are a brilliant way of meeting people, and getting to know others. I think the outright flirting above shows it, cause I could never flirt like that with someone I hadnt met or didn't really like.

I usually make a mental list of people I would like to meet and then when it comes time totally forget and just blunder round all night and spend the next 6 weeks thinking "Damn I wish I had met soandso" ...

Why is it that i read this and think hmmmm northward munching?
And there are so many people i just would so love to meet from here. Trouble is don't you fimd that you'd like to do the munch then go somewhere comfy and chat for hours and hours and hours over coffee after
How good are the services on the M1 and M6?
And and and... even though not munch/social novices can/would one be able to ask for hand holders if one was able to munch northward just because they haven't had one before and they are really shy.... like us confused

I dont go to socials or munches with any thought about who I will meet. I go to let my hair down and have a good time.
As time has gone by and I felt more at ease with socials/munches, if Ive nattered to someone in chat for a long time I might go out of my way to find them. Or make arrangements to say hello, if I know they are arriving on their own and dont know anyone, offering a friendly invite to come say hi etc just so they arent on their own or have someone to speak to if they feel lost..
Im a reasonably friendly person but can be quite shy and a bit of a loner. If Im introducted to someone and I like them and we get on, Im happy for a friendship to form... its the unexpected friendships that come from them that I appreciate and embrace. Those who accept me for who I am, dont pressurise or have expectations of me... and they certainly know who they are wave

I would say that I go to enjoy myself yet do have a list of people that I would like to meet that have 'rasied my interest'.
I've got a number that I would like to know more due to either the quality of Posts, Profile Photo's or we are both looking for the same thing.
Yet as many of you know I have a good time when I attend any events created via this website.
