Any one tell us what premium membership is and how you get it. We were just about to upgrade extras when I noticed some parts of it will not work unless you have premium membership. Can't find info on the site.

No.
When you joined, the site was free. Then it was taken over by the current owners. Anyone who was already a member was guaranteed to keep their 'free' status.
Now when you join you get limited functionality without paying. So new free members have to upgrade to be premium members and access all aspects of the site.
Premium members can then buy the Extras package which gives added stuff.
You are effectively a free-premium-pre-takeover member so what you would be paying for would be extras.
Unless you cancel your account, then you will have to become a premium member by paying.
