Premium phone rate banners?

Hi Lovely site. I read an email in an earlier thread that clicking on some banners can lead to premium rate charges on one's phone bill. I understand that one normally has to download a dialler to activate this but I was wondering if there is any danger that these can self install? Any response appreciated. Love, J

I am sure from a previous string the answer to your question is "no" - at least in relation to this site.

Well, they probably won't self-install on this site, but they sure can and do on other sites.
I JUST finished updating spywareblaster to get rid of ANOTHER of these things.
Not to mention the inevitable files that do even stranger things...all downloaded free and with no fanfare...not to mention the ones that self install and then are a pain to delete...and which seem to come back...and back...
