Hi there. problems with viewing images... never had problems before.. havent changed browsers or anything.....
the actual html for the image is incomplete.. hmmmmm
anyone else?
nope
perving nicely
thank you
Where is this happening? Photo Ads? Forum? Any of the links on the left?
Chances are it is just your connection to the site is a bit slow and the page isn't fully loading. Just reopen the page and it will work.
This is the section of the HTML that displays images (a random ad)
and the image tags arent being closed off
the rest of the html page is fully complete.... so whats up with this....
***************** HTML POST&*********************
<tr>
<td width="18%" rowspan="4" id="imagecell">
<a href="./photos/ " onClick="NewWindow( ,'pictures','500','500','yes');return false"> </a> <a href="./photos/ " onClick="NewWindow( ,'pictures','500','500','yes');return false"> </a> <a href="./photos/ " onClick="NewWindow( ,'pictures','500','500','yes');return false"> </a> </td>
<td colspan="2"><h3>Message</h3></td>
</tr>
So does it happen only on that one ad? Which ad section is it in? What happens if you go back and reload the page? What happens if you click on the image again to reload the image?

Its not the website thats not working, or the html coding. Its the connection or might even be a browser setting with how it handles its cache and temporary files.
I remember when I first read html, I thought it was like the matrix language 1010

the images are inside the a href tags, which are closed off so there isnt a mistake with that as far as i can see

You weren't reading HTML then ;-)

Clear your cache out and try again.
Chris
actually.. the a href tags should be closed with an
mind you..im only a student so cant swear... as thats not basic html;.. the code after the image looks like java or PHP so that may be sufficient to close the tags.. it does end with an >
i aint too clever with java or PHP.

Try that again after switching of html smile
But that really isn't the problem here, it's not the website, it's his browser and probably his cache indexes.
Double checked the coding you've given us. It would help if you didn't edit it when you copied it into the post:
As you can see this is random advert. The link tags are complete and they are pointing to the image The link is also wrapped around the image so there is nothing wrong.

<td width="18%" rowspan="4" id="imagecell">
<a href="./photos/ " onClick="NewWindow( ,'pictures','500','500','yes');return false"><img src="./photos/thumbs/ " alt="pictures of Fun loving couple looking for fun! (1)" width="59" height="100"></a> </td>
The html you gave us doesn't include the <img src=***> tag where the link is supposed to be around. This could happen for lots of reasons. You are running a half cached version of the page.
Your connection to the site isn't complete due to having too many temp internet files. If you had your settings to refresh at every visit to the page you will always have the correct page come up.
The problem is at your end and not the site. Sorry.
i did.. i forgot that the message would read the tags i mentioned!
ooohh, what else can i do here with html then?
i may have to investigate

That was pretty pointless really, we already knew that the most likely place of his problem was at his side, rather than with the site.
I think he should delete his cache and try again rolleyes
Here's why, all of the images in the cache are indexed, erm, in the cache index obviously. Let's say it gets corrupted at the record for this image, or the image itself gets buggered, then it still calls for the same image from cache which either can't be found or is buggered.
Clearing the cache frces the browser to download the image afresh, sorted... :roll:
oooo my god...... it was zonealarm!!!!!
my firewall on my PC was blocking them!!!! its a fantastic programme.. but chuff me its too efficient sometimes... it was classifying the photos on here as ads!!!

All you need to do to display it is check the box that says 'Disable HTML in this post'

i know html quite well but ive moved onto CSS now.
i was more talking about the fact that i could use html inside these messages and was wondering what mischief i could get up to with it.

Try Crimson Editor for writing html ... it's freeware and far better than using notepad.
