Sadly, today we had the sad news that someone dear to us passed away today.(he was only in his thirties) He was an inspiration to all those that met him, and will be sadly missed. Sorry to put a damper on the Christmas spirit, but we think that we all know someone whose been affected by such events in he past. As far as we are concerned, its live life for today because you do not know what tommorow brings. Why is it that the good ones go so soon........................
We both agree that from now on we do what we want as tomorrow may never come.
life is never perfect, but lets give it a good go.....

Yes, I knew a man who died in his 30s some years ago, he was a motorsport driver, also a Harley Davidson Biker - he had cancer. Very sad, it makes you think.
Plim sad

I dread this time of year for the simple reason that the people I look after are in end stages of cancer and are just days away from shaking off this mortal coil. My heart goes out to those who have lost a loved one at any time of year but more so around Christmas time.
Life is precious, treat it as such

Having lost my son at the age of 5 1/2years to an aggressive cancer, I thank all special people such as Sassy for their wonderful care throughout the year, but especially at Christmas.
It takes a very special person to do this kind of work and having nursed my own child through the night, know how stressful and upsetting it can be.
Yes it does put life in perspective.
As a result I laugh alot, enjoy life and try not to take swinging too seriously........after all guys its supposed to be fun biggrin

I also want to send out hugs to anyone who has lost someone close to them.
Christmas is always a difficult time to deal with the loss of someone close.
I've experienced this myself, and its not easy but it does get easier with time.
I can sympathise with Adi completely, i lost my father during the xmas/new year period of 1999/2000, it was a difficult time for all my family and you only really understand this when you have experienced it yourself.
But time heals all, and after time, all the hurt slowly fades and only the good memories remain.
Christmas is a time to remember those we miss and to raise a toast to the fond memories which last forever.
To everyone who posted in this thread, my thoughts are with you :therethere:

Xmas is always a bad time for that.
May our loved ones rest in peace. Plant a seed above their grave so that they may grow into a loving tree which will then live forever thus being reborn and one with the earth.

So sorry to hear that Mistress kiss that surely must be one of the hardest things in life to have to cope with. Big hug to you.
I too am sitting here today on my own (ducked out of family do feeling unwell) having had a 'sad reflective' day being close to people I love who have terminal illnesses.
Sassy, people like you are so well thought of by every parent/child for whose relatives you care for. Thank you.
To the OP Adi, sorry to hear your loss, it's so doubly sad when the dear departed are young and full of life.

Ive found this Christmas to be full of past memories good and bad. In the last six weeks Ive lost a member of my family (expected but still a shock when the time came) and two colleagues. One in horrific circumstances 200yrs from his parents home.
His death had a huge effect on me. We'd lived near each other, gone through Uni and ended up working together for 12 yrs. It was a joy to have known him and work with.
One thing that has happened is that a lot of people have come together through his death, online and offline friends and colleagues all met at his funeral and have decided to keep in touch.
Hugs to all those who've lost a loved one kiss
