Trying to be really organised, I decided to sort out my wardrobe and put all my PVC/Leather stuff in one place and to make it easier to find. Yesterday, getting ready to go out, I spent ages trying to decide what to wear and finally picked something in red PVC only to find it had loads of black marks all over it. At first I thought it was black marker pen, but when I checked the rest of my red items, they all had the same marks on them. I am convinced it is the black PVC which has rubbed against the red, but everything is very badly marked. I have spent ages on google trying to find out how to get it cleaned but so far, nothing as even touched the marks, including generaly washing the area, nail varnish remover, hairspray, lemon juice, turps and oven cleaner (dont ask, it was a last resort). Can anyone help? Would hate to have to throw it all away!!!!
Quote by Dirtygirly Pure alcohol. It takes marks off pretty much everything. Not sure where you get it though... I steal mine from my mum.
Will vodka work I even tried baby wipes as they have alchol in them, but that didnt work. Starting to panic now and he has hidden his credit card from me

You have to get the PVC warm. Body temperature is good. So maybe wearing it for a while. Then lots and lots of man juice. From the marks you describe, I'd guess you are looking for at least ten volunteers. I know it's a tough job, but I'm happy to help. If you want the job doing quickly, maybe your post would have more luck in the lets meet up forum
Dont know if it will work but you can get these really clever wipes now from Morrisons that remove hair dye, (and trust me I get it everywhere). Hair dye is a buggar to shift so possibly worth a go, they are about 80p for a pack of two. Failing that, try Ian's advice :giggle:

might help. Look at the bit labeled Leather. Can't vouch for it -- found it by Googling PVC stain remover. Good luck. Thank you, I will have a proper look at that site and hopefully something on there will remove the stuff

Perfume, aftershave and hairspray not touched it

Cif, bleach, and T-Cut dont work, but not tried sugar soap, will add that to the shopping list for tomorrow.
Quote by tweeky Tried vinegar
Tried white vinegar and the brown stuff you stick on chips (not, not HP Sauce) and nothing works, but the PVC really stinks to high heaven now

I will try Morrisons tomorrow and see what I can find. At this rate it will be cheaper to buy new stuff  and pure vodka doesnt work either.

Dont laugh but if I thought they would come and sort it, I would. Im getting really desperate now, the PVC stinks through all the stuff Ive put on it, and probably will not be wearable by the time I work out how to get the staining out

Slightly off topic - do those wipes get hair dye off skin? You should be able to get pure (rubbing) alcohol from Boots - it's great stuff, just don't try drinking it!
its ok baby heres what you need to do empty your bath wear your dress get into bath and get mr wigan to fill it with vegetable oil and stay in it 4 at east 5 hours or intill marks have vanished glad to be of help
Quote by sara2010 well its not like you need a lot of material lol they never do give ickle people much material
Oh Oh not even i dare call her ickle   And anyhow you can't get new stuff you have "other" things to buy later on in the year :small-print: :rascal:
My couple of ideas I had have already been said by others. However, black PVC was used in civil engineering a few years ago as the colour is very resilient, so might be an idea to enquire at a Builders Merchants about the qualities and other colours (although I not sure what you would say to them!). Another point, I not sure that the cause of the damge is as you suspect - have you rubbed a type of hanger or handle off another item againt the garments? PS. I seem to recall that black PVC was resistant to Ultra Violet rays. Plim really
Quote by TheLovelyOne its ok baby heres what you need to do
Uh oh... you called Mrs NWC 'baby' And that'sthe oddest thing about that post?
Erm, think I will stick with other remedies/solutions if you dont mind :eeek:

It is resistant to EVERYTHING. OK, I have just about given up and have already binned some stuff. NOTHING is making any difference including the uPVC cleaner, t-cut, baby oil, rubbing alchol, baby wipes, toothpaste, lemon juice, nail varnish remover, alloy wheel cleaner, leather polish/cleaner, saddle soap, soap flakes and some miracle stain remover which just removed my nail varnish  Thanks for all the suggestions everyone and if anyone fancies any dirty red PVC stuff, let me know, I have loads of it
OK... here's my (rather drastic) last chance tip: Lay the affected piece of garment on a smooth, flat, hard surface and stretch it taut. Very carefully, use a new Stanley knife blade to gently scrape the top surface of the discoloured area off. Make sure you hold the blade at just under 90 degrees to the surface and 'pull' it across rather than push. It might take more than one person to hold the thing flat while you do this, so please be very careful! If you don't have a Stanley knife blade, you could try a razor blade, but that's pretty dangerous if you slip! It won't leave it perfect, and it may make that area weaker, but if you're already thinking of throwing them away then nothing's lost. If that doesn't work I'm afraid it's a back to kinky shopping for you! ;-)
