Any warning light is not a good sign..
If the light is yellow then at the moment the fault is a minor one...
If the light is red then it shouldnt be driven anywhere really but to the nearest dealer..
Engine management lights come on very are usually caused by a duff HT the car drives fine an is not missing you will be ok useing it and you might find the light goes out on its own

Management lights dont come on and stay on for nothing..

mondeos have a connector under driver`s seat ffs. if this comes apart it brings the ecu light on

Thats most likely because the seat is an anti-submarine seat and also has airbags in it...
ECU light comes on as its a safety issue if either of these functions is inactive... smile

Thanks for reminding me Steve :lol2:
:small-print: Not to self - Don't take the small jam post from hotels without checking the lids are tight. It makes a hell of a mess round a car boot redface
only thing i've ever done with a mondeo is driven over one or two with a 101 land rover at the war and peace show :lol

The illuminated light could be any one of a multi-tude of faults.....
