Can someone tell my why that post about swinging boats is locked? I would have thought that 2 or 3 swinging couples sharing a boat in a warm place would be a really wild holiday!
I'll skipper if you need one!

I suspect it's because it's obviously bullshit. He's asking a bunch of complete strangers to help him buy a boat. If someone came in here trying to flog a timeshare villa in Majorca, I daresay that would be locked too.
Right - I thought it meant chartering a boat for a holiday rather than buying one. Shame because it would have been fun.
I admit to making an assumption, namely that he wouldn't be allowed to take the boat abroad if it was hired, so I read it as a proposal to buy one. Could be wrong. Also, someone on board would have to have a Master's ticket to sail in international waters.
Anyway, whether it's a buy or rent deal, it remains his one and only post on the site, nobody knows who the hell he is, and I personally think you'd have to be stark raving bonkers to enter into any such venture with complete strangers.

Well not quite - it depends on your experience. Most yacht charter companies will let you sail wherever their insurance allows (typically 60 miles from a safe haven - which gets you to France, Ireland, Europe, etc) provided you can show you have the experience. A yachtmaster ticket helps but is not essential. I'm assuming sailing boat here - don't know about power boats - can't stand the noise or the fuel costs!
Yes I agree though - it does seem he wants to buy one. Must be rich!

Being the cynic that I am, I interpreted it as him hoping that we are rich. confused

That's my fault.
I have a cunning device that I've targeted on your puny planet.
It renders people argumentative and incapable of rational conversation.
