Just a general query....
In a number of ads, it says that people are unable to reply to mails because they're not members. Is this the case ? And if it is, how do we make contact ? confused

I'm wondering because I've replied to a load of ads that seem to be asking for guys like me, but never get any replies...in fact the only mails I've ever get are from gay men.
My concern is that I can't tell whether they're not able to reply, if it's because l'm a troll, whether they have too many replies to deal with or if they're just rude....l'm in the middle of my mid-life crisis, so it would be nice to know if it really is time to give up and book my room in a McCarthy home or to keep trying biggrin

Any advice gratefully received....even from gay men redface

I think that you need to keep trying. it takes a lot of patience and perseverence to succeed.

I posted this in LMU yesterday mate - the same really applies here... :P I can understand why you might get messages from gay guys wink

If you don't want them you could change your sexuality to 'n/a'. Dunno if this will help and don't see why you should have to, to be honest, or maybe you could put 'no guys please' in your ad? dunno

You can put your email into your private message to them, ask them to contact you there, If you still get no reply then I guess it's them being rude, otherwise dunno

i think unpaid members can still post an ad, but if they ain't paid up, they won't have a PM inbox, and so sometimes you see tricksy ways to post an off-site e-mail address within the ad? i think you need to be a full member to pick up replies sent through the site? dunno

someone more clued up than me could probably answer that one, but if someone says in their ad that they can't reply cos they ain't full members, just stick your off-site e-mail addy in your reply to them?
if you do that, and get no reply, it's generally safe to assume they got your mail, and decided not to reply for whatever reason? it's up to you if you want to try them again, but personally, i'd leave it at that? confused

the lack of replies comes up every week, but deviousliasons hit the nail on the head explaining why that is!!! many couples / single fems simply can't cope with the volume of PMs they get in reply to their ad?

i didntthink you were ment to give out off site email addys?
i know one of the reasons will be that admin want people to pay if they want to read messages, but in my honest opinion i dont give out my personal email as its open to spam etc.
some of the ads you see from non paid memebrs might be that because they are just trying to get your private email addy??? i dunno.
im not saying here that members who are here to browse are not guenuine, just giveing my reason why its not always a good idea to give out personal off site e amil addys.
