Okay -seeing as this is a pay site now - may I ask a question - or propose a topic for discussion?
If a struggling student had something for sale on a well known auction site - and wasn't actually MAKING ANY money out of it - just had it one there to raise awareness of a certain issue - woud mentioning it on here contravene site rules on selling stuff? No profit - just awareness raising?

Anyway, it depends on the particular auctioneers site rules... but in general, its against the rules to offer for sale something that you aren't intending to sell

Ahh - but there is actually something to sell. Just with no PROFIT. ie - sold at the same as cost.
And PussyKAT......

 Long time no see.. hope you are well...
As to the question... no idea, however if you are selling used undies then I'll offer 50p on the condition that you come to mine wearing them and proceed to remove them as I watch to know they are really yours and not some fat old bloke wearing womens undies before posting them to me, hehe lol
Oh and of cause... if you put on a good show then I'd take you to my local diner and let you pay for double eggs, sausies, bacon, beans, and french bread for us both... if it wasnt a good show then I'd have to let you order and pay for an indian take away :P
Shamless bump :bounce:
we too would be interested in the answer to this one

Ok, lets imagine, that someone had an item or items selling on some auction site or other be it for profit or not, lets even imagine that this item was in some way losely or otherwise connected with swinging.
With me so far?
Right, would it be acceptable for that someone to post something like.
hey peeps check this out dont click the link, its pretend rolleyes )
i think that was the gist of it, though the origional poster was talking about not for profit, we just widened the question a bit.
No, I'm serious Pete - are some people paying for SH, already?

Apparantly, the new signup front page is active, although it does say sign up now for free, I would assume that the gold and platinum options are now available for new members IMO
slap me with a kipper if I'm wrong.

Can you be more specific? I don't understand. What was being talked of was not a product or a service nor was it spamming in the sense defined by the AUP. Genuinely confused. The AUP needs re-drafting if you want to make it clear that what is mooted above is against the site rules.

linking to or ebay listings would go against the aup, asking if someone wanted to buy an unused/used sextoy or pair of knickers could open up the door to all sorts of spamming. The criteria for what is allowed hasn't changed but as I don't know all the ins and outs on this I can't say more.
Well I would delete it - cos that's the kind of guy I am !!! confused :? lol

Especially if it was the used Sex Toy that St3v3 refers to
There is a difference between donating and being in business.
When donating you are giving away items for free.
When selling items, whether without profits or even at a loss, you are conducting financial transactions, and therefore you are in business.
So as regards site rules and policies, people can't be seen to be openly conductng a business.
