Id just like to say that as a fairly new poster myself the majority of replies to my posts have been entertaining, informative and generally well manered and welcoming. I did have one or two comments which i took personally but then decided to just take them on the chin and carry on. A moderator also helped me recently on a delicate matter after i posted about it and i found them to be very helpful and genuinely sympathetic to my situation. So i think that any negative comments should just be taken on the chin. If you worry about what people will say, in here and in real life you would never do anything.

 & peace to all.

Its when it gets too personal I think its out of order....

but you would neer say anything personal against someone would you....... confused
Personal? No! Like what Kate? My point is simple... not personal! Yet again more PM's today saying the same thing... To worried to post a reply for fear of being put down or whatever you want to call it..... If your refering to the comments made about the shoes post yet again you just prove the point really. Also if you read my posts on this I have admitted being as bad at times..... I dont attack just about every point of view made though just the ones that have double standards.
Also just to clarify please... I don't just mean newbies exclusively but they can be put off so much quicker by the comments made to what could be a serious issue to them! It could even be they are just trying to fit in a little..
The ones that are obviously just taking the pis* fair game let rip and get rid lol..

I think it was a fair comment.... we have met couples (yes more than one) who are scared stiff to post anything in here for the fear of being made to look or feel stupid. They have wanted to join in and ask questions of what seems to be experienced swingers but just find some a little too abrasive with there sarcastic comments.
Not all find it so easy to take on the chin and find me one person who reads every single past post before asking a question.... I have often wondered why some find it so easy to try and put others down. No ones perfect are they.

Most of this "bothers me" - but in particular, the bit I've bold'd.
I'm not putting myself forward as anything that I'm not - but my PM box is always open.
Dammie... its true! I am not putting myself forward either but I have now had several PM's from folk who say more or less the same thing.. they are scared of reactions if they go against the popular view.. Not all are new either! Nor are they from anyone who has returned from another site lol!! At times we have all done it... in one way or other, what worries me on a personal level is that we could be driving good and nice people away, thats all!

If you're going to quote me Eager then at least quote me properly??
Quote by Jags
I am somewhat disappointed that Eager has taken to come back to SH ONLY to cause this trouble or air this issue - whichever take you have on what's happened.

Now that puts a different spin on things, eh??

Why do I feel a tad insecure about expressing an opinion here about the site? Am I being silly or what?

Eager, my friend, it is just because you ain't been here fer quite a bit and that's bound to make you feel uncertain - only natural. Fact is, you are you and your qualities, whatever they may be will shine through. You've been at home here once and there's nothing stopping you being at home here again - choice is yours - but don't question it.
Same is true about a few people here, who look across the road.

Could not agree more. Maybe I am lucky and have been made welcome because I am female rolleyes but I have found that if you want to be wrapped in cotton wool and babied then this is not the place but if you want somewhere that you can have a laugh, have a serious discussion and yes, even disagree with people then you are in the right place. The key to anything in life is moderation and respect. Oh ffs ... this is not sounding how it is sounding in my head ... this is why I sould not drink and post !!!

And just to show what I mean here is a pm recieved by someone not posting for the very same reason...
Not saying any names but please read....
Mike - totally agree with your post.
Certain moderators treat posters - NEW posters, usually, with such disrespect, attacking their opinion, attacking even their right to have an opinion (if, for example, they have recently come back from another site) that I feel totally unable to express any opinion which goes against the popular view.
Genuine pm from someone who does not post....
Mike xx

Now I just don't see that confused
Could they give examples dunno
I'd like examples too. And can you clarify 'new posters' cos you then go onto to say 'coming back from another site' - the 'coming back' bit indicates that they are not new posters.
STILL waiting for examples. I've had PMs too you know....

Keep up! Someone 1 said that MODERATORS are being unfriendly to new posters and people returning from somewhere more dastardly than here. Someone 2 asked for examples. Someone 1 said that they had had PMs from people too scared to post. Then I asked for examples. Someone 1 then said that they had had MORE PMs from more people too scared to post and I asked again for examples saying I'd had PMs from people too.
Look, lots of commas and only one breath!

Hello One, this is One Two; are you one too ?
(That's the best I can do, because I can't remember the script form the one about somebody was going to do something that anybody could have done, but in the end nobody did it redface )

Lousy job but hey, think of the rewards wink
oohh
A new position
lol
I too reside elsewhere, but pop back now and then, and havent really had any problems.
Lots of new names I dont recognise and so therefore I tend to modify my posts in case people dont get what i am about. I think that may be the biggest fear for some that are new or just returning, they dont want to be misunderstood.
