firstly i've asked friends and work collegues about this but have found big brother is like "marmite" you either love it or hate it, so if they hate it no feedback comes if they love it they accept it, my problem is i've never watched it b4 (think it's cheap television programming) but trying to get into it this time but everytime i watch it the sound is either an aeroplane taking off or birds twittering, now if i wanted to listen to planes taking off i'd watch airport or go to local airport same with bird sounds i'd either watch a nature prog or go outdoors, so my complaint is why do we allow such cheap tv programmes and be cheated by not hearing what these people have to say, it seems to be the way forward with television programme makers so why don't people shout up about it b4 they put more crap on? would be interested in your opinions or even if you know the time to watch it where the dialog is transmitted.

Hi there, it's my understanding that when C4 broadcast the live streaming they cut the sound out when people either, swear, talk about family members or famous people in a possibly slanderous way or talk about anything else that would be classed as inappropriate for pre-watershed television - so it's almost pretty pointless broadcasting it as it seems that's all they do lol!

BB has never drawn me in, but then neither have soaps. I say that, but I did get sucked to East Enders for about a year once without wanting to... it just happened after watching one epidose. I knew it was a mistake and it was a bit like smoking... most of the time you wonder why you're doing it and the rest of the tme you spend trying to kick the habit.
BB is cheapo programming and it is rubbish, no matter how you justify it. It glorifies conflict, celebrates mediocrity and champions celebrity for its own sake. In twenty years time it will be mocked roundly and soundly for being the epitome of laziness, that is if it hasn't itself been "surpassed" and life becomes even less cerebral.
Me, I prefer to watch anything else... even David Attenborugh looks great.

Can't wait! Do they show this kind of shit on US tv? OK, I know the spiritual home of shit tv is America, but have they sunk to the depths we have here as there are certain safeguards in place there? And isn't BB a Dutch tv invention anyway that has been "successfully" franchised throughout the western world? I think Big Brother is turning the sound off randomly just to upset people and just to make it more interesting. And if there is any point - if they turn it back on - it is delayed by random time... So really you are not able to watch it unless you r able to read from lips... 
Well " Big Brother" as defined by a Mr Orwell, seems to be true to form. Its hardly cheating as its all about mind control is it not? So why not control the viewers too! You will only see and hear what BB wants you to. Oooh too scary for me , thats why I don.t have a TV ! Big Brother is watching YOU !
