I remember singing both versions at different schools, but '...orange and purple and blue' feels more natural. That doesn't help much does it?
It's "purple and orange and blue" as far as I'm aware.
Purple and orange and blue -delta goodram version and the originl lyrics by Arthur Hamilton it appears.
I was taught the other version at school.
