I'm aware that I've told you what its called....that was the point, due to your cheek i wont be giving you any tea!! I apoligise for making a complete balls up of this little guessing game by not even knowing something as simple as what the song is called....still, i am quite clever really.....
So clever that i know that there are 46 states in the USA not 50
Anyone wanna challenge me on that?
I take it you're classing the Carolinas and Dakotas etc as one then
Four of the supposed fifty states are in fact not states, they are commonwealths so therefore not states. Sassy I'm assumming you knew this little fact because of Stephen Fry's book Geneal Ignorance or QI......I knew it before then because i have a degree :small-print: and im just that damn clever biggrin

I know I am going to regret doing this.......
Whilst I don't have Stephen Fry's book (some of us can actually think for ourselves, rather than simply stealing from other people's knowledge rolleyes) I DID know that SOME American States bore the title of Commonwealth. I didn't know exactly how many, but then I don't see that it really matters.
However, my point is that the country is called the United STATES of America, or USA or just US. I have never heard it referred to as as the United States and Commonwealths of America or USCA or USC. All 50 of the 'bodies' have State Governors and State Legislatures and everyone colloquially refers to each area as a State. There is a difference between being clever and being pedantic for the sole purpose of trying to make other people look stupid (which almost always makes the perpetrator look an arse and not his intended victim).
.....and breathe................mad :x :x

I know, I know I shouldn't have, but I couldn't keep it in any longer. redface surprisedops:

Yes, but since we are a Kingdom does it stop us being a state in Europe? Did us being a Commonwealth change the state of England? Yes, but we were still England. Kingdom, Commonwealth or what ever, we remain in a real state.
