Dear All,
Thanks for voting but please put your reasons as I am very intrested.
Many Thanks.
Wasn't really to my taste; sorry. The website also doesn't work entirely in Mozilla Firefox (which I use).
Not to my taste either - can't really see the point, sorry
Not really my sort of thing at all im afraid
Please also checkout this great site someone told me about in Work:
Its got his work he's done in Liverpool recently, very good.
Enjoy.
Banksy is a very well-known agit-prop artist. He recently did the scales of justice as a hooker and also did the artwork for the latest Blur album.
It's not really my cup of tea, to be honest... to many cliches.
:laughabove:
It's perfect fodder for this sort of modern art!
This is the Art that I mentioned in the previous post:
Enjoy & go to:
& his work recently done in Liverpool,
Enjoy.
I just love it its great. & thanks again for your views I love this site its great.
Can I revoke my vote? I stupidly thought that the question "Is this Web-Site the best EVER ?" Was refering to THIS site, must pay more attention to finishing off sente
If you want to see an absolute class website for content and construction you would be better off looking at Silk and BigG's website on their www link.
Ask any art historian and they will tell you that art is at the forefront of social comment. It has the ability to reach audiences from all walks of life. This controversy is nothing new. Many peices of now accepted and alcaimed art work were once passed off as useless rubbish and many of the "great masters" never sold their work during their lifetime.
Courting the hype and controversy is part of getting your work noticed and written about, which in turn makes the artist money and possibly a living, maybe with fame attached.
Banksy's work in my opinion is not the greatest street art I have ever seen.
We recently attended an international festival abroad that was hosted on farm land. The buildings that were usually used to house the animals were boarded up and their occupants rehoused temporarily somewhere else. The organisers encouraged grafitti artists from all over the world to display their work on these boards.
The work we saw was simply breathtaking. Lots of it was deeply bedded in recent topical events and made scourging social comment which made the viewer really question their opinions on things. Others were more decorative and showed the range of skills the artist has. What Banksy does on the streets of this country compared to what I have seen is vandalism under the name of art.
Art has always made waves and will continue to, but not at the expense of other people's property. I am very much of the opinion that this is art and should be displayed in the relvant places such as galleries or in public viewing places. Some of it does make you question the staus quo, which in my opinion is always a good thing as this keeps my mind fresh and blows off a few cobwebs.
There are many other artists in this world which I would rather see work by. But as they say, each to their own...

Not at all impressive - the image on index3 I find particularly crass.
