Dear Group,
What is the reason for all the hype over Robbie Williams ? All he does is try to
‘break America’ & then when he can’t comes over here.
I remember watching his concert on Channel 4 last summer & the crowd just loved every minute even that his singing was terrible & he had lots of fit Female dancers to give the impression that he’s actually Sexual.
I went to see James Brown in Liverpool & it was the hottest day of ever recorded in the city & he just killed the tent. Pure energy but also very unpredictable, so it kept the crowd on their toes. That’s how a real showman does it.
What is the point of Robbie Williams & he’s always going on about how unhappy he is… Robbie give me a slice of your wealth & then I’ll enjoy it for you.
Your views as always are needed & respect, Poll ends in 7 days..!!!
Omar The Wünderhorse.
The man is a god.
He left a very successful boy band - yes, I know boy bands are crap but, come on, they did bloody good for a bunch of Manc pretty boys - made a complete twat of himself on several occasions, went a "bit" mad enough times to make it a habit (be honest, wouldn't all that fame, money and glory go to your head just a tad?).
He admits all his mistakes; he's not perfect and doesn't claim to be. He's not remotely pretentious and never forgets his roots. His cocky arrogant attitude is a defense thing - he's actually very insecure and again, admits it!
Look at him now - he's hugely successful and wealthy and you don't hear him whinging about the Press - the people that put him where he is (take note Posh & Becks, Catherine ZJ et al.)
He always sings live and has an excellent voice - I think Swing When You're Winning proved that.
I think of him as a male version of Kylie - men want to be like him and women want to shag him. Except I want to be like Kylie and shag her!
I think a lot of the men that slate Robbie Williams are jealous! He's a top bloke. Normal, ordinary lad done good. I applaud him!
What she said! Good, ordinary looking, talented, young man. Pissing it up the wall, as we all would at his age, if we'd had his resources.
His claim to the throne of sexy is purely because of attitude. No-one could actually think he's particularly attractive, could they?
I saw James Brown support the Red Hot Chillie Peppers at the City of Manchester Stadium this summer and he was an old man on stage trying to relive the glorydays in my opinon.
Robbie Williams can't be comparred with a soul legend because they are in two different classes of music. It's like comparing Michaelanlgelo with Tracy Emin. Two completely different genres which can co-exsist without need for comparrison.
Robbie is a legend for the amount of things he has done and will probably be around for a few years more. True his voice isn't always perfect, think and name another pop artist as big as him that would have done a sunday afternoon show like T4 without some mimeing. I can't bring one to mind. He is honest about falling off his addiction waggon and brave enough to go into therapy.
Robbie Williams is a born entertainer, his on stage energy, sing-a-long chorus, cheeky grin and shaggablity factor is what draws the crowds. He is a class A charmer and good to watch.
If you want completely brilliant music buy a Queen album.
Pure rubbish & all that stuff about making mistakes is all P.R as am sure the 'real' stuff isn't allowed in the Press.
No Soul pure dross at least MC Hammer was could dance & had his own fashion thing going on.
Robbie Williams what a joke that's the reason he'll never break America. As that is the 'acid test' Oasis could'nt but Elton John has. The quality of America in the Music is amazing.
How do you even dance to a Robbie Williams Song = Middle of the Roadkill.
Bjork, Barry Manillow, MC Hammer, Kenny Rogers, Mos Def, Morrisey & Kanye West... now that's winners. Robbie fans.
I used to have the opinion it was all an act and he is actually minced in the head - then I heard the radio 1 interviews this morning and decided that isnt the case ! he is arrogant !
Mr stellaa
Am on a roll you really want to hear the real winner in Music today:
BBC Radio 1 Worldwide Show.
The quality of this show is amazing & enjoy it.
Robbie is a great big dollop of bad taste. Both him and his music.
he's one of my five, actually my number one to take on a night out
HE'S GORGEOUS
Sorry but I agree with Omar on this one.
I can't stand the guy, but his music was reasonable (I've even got one of his albums  ), until he had a fit of ego and sacked his songwriter (the guy that wrote "Angels" and did most of the work on the "Life through a lens" album).
He started his solo career doing covers (George Michael IIRC), so he then he decides (as the record company is now baying for another album) that he'll revert back to doing covers, a rather piss-poor bunch of swing covers, that sold more on their novelty value than on talent. Since then he's released a couple of singles and an album that have just failed to live up to previous work.
He's also traded far too long on the cheeky-chappy image which is fine when your below 25, but when you're around the 30 mark it tends to look rather pathetic really.
Sorry, but I think he's all set to start doing guest-apperances in Vegas now, where all the lounge-lizards seem to go before they die.
OMG I can't believe so many people are dissing the Robster!! He's sex on legs and a born entertainer. I've seen him live twice now and the man can do no wrong in my eyes (Well ok, he's made a few mistakes with drugs but hey, we're all human and at least he's fought against it!).
I was a bit unsure about his latest single at first but it's grown on me. Robbie is just fantastic as far as I'm concerned and he can park his slippers under my bed anytime he likes
I loved Take That - Gary Barlow was my fav. When Robbie left then they broke up I was gutted and didnt like Robbie.
Didnt like Robbie at all until he brought out Angels - that song gives me goosepimples - absolutely love it and I am now one of Robbies biggest fans....the power of a song.
