Thanks to one and all for your replies to our posting "Are you fed up with the f****** World Cup. OK, Wales, Scotland and Ireland are not competing for it. Why do we have to suffer it still in Wales, Scotland and Ireland. We could not give a 'whatever' for who wins. It is our mission in Wales to beat England at every opportunity in everything so why should we feel anything if they lose? We are sick of being told by newspapers and TV that the WHOLE country is behind England....meaning the whole of Britain. We did not tell these people that we are behind them, neither did many others. They are out of order to decide on our behalf. Many Americans think that the UK is just England...how sadly misguided can they be? If and when we do shout for Wales it will not be because some reporter or TV reporter tells us to.

Well it seems that many Scots or Welsh or Irish, want no part in England which is bloody fine with me.
The Scots in particular are the biggest green eyed monsters on the planet.
It seems in many pubs in Glasgow, they will be rooting for the other team.
Pity we could not get a sledgehammer and break it all up, and then England can stand alone. lol
The British Isles it may well be, but they all want to break away from England in their own ways, and nothing could make me happier.
I don't want them too.
I am English and I sure as hell would not support anyone of their football teams, but then again have Wales ever qualified for the World cup? I know Scotland have and as Brucie would say " didn't they do well "............er no they did rubbish.
The Irish well.......The Republic got to a World cup but Northern Ireland well they play a different kind of game.
I am English but it seems that the other parts of the British Isles take great delight in telling us how separate they are from England, and as I have said.....that would make me very happy.
I'd quite happily see the other countries get complete independance, we're see how long free student fees and free presciptions last, to be honest i'm sick to death of the other countries whinging about England getting through to the world cup and that they haven't, if the shoe was on the other foot its all we would ever hear about!...so what, get over it, either support us or just turn the fucking channel over!
Green eyed monsters.....
Well at least we are there, unlike all the other " British Isles " so called teams.
The trouble is are any of the other three any better at anything, than the English?
Thought not. lol

There's nothing funnier than the assertiveness of the English, especially the morning after the night before.
Something the Cymraeg were better at than the English? What, like being here first, and Christianity?
im not bothered if the welsh, scottish or irish support us or not, its of no interest to me at all, england has plenty of its own supporters
i certainly wouldnt support them at all if they managed to get this far in the world cup
but they havnt manged to get as far as england anyway so it seeme to me they are just jealous lol
the more separate we are from them all the better for me

Give them their oil and they will...........oh sorry, England needs Scotland more than Scotland need England. They will shoot ahead of England on the GDP per Capita if they did.
So green eyed monster of England gripping onto Scottish oil wink

I guess thats currently owned though by Great Brittan not Scotland though. We all know that during a divorce the assets get split up and I cant see that the scots have any kids  Anyway is it not called north sea oil not Scottish oil. I know a few rig workers, the in laws line in Aberdeenshire. Seems from what they say that everyones working out there so I dont see than any one part of the UK has a claim to it. If we are doing it by geographically then some of it actually belongs to Norway.

It is something I was told in the past. A bit like Maggie didn't put it in the pot with the EU. Thats why we let them keep the Agricultural Policy.
It is GBs at the moment but if we did split would Scotland get it? Could this be the reason why there is no split. England do not want to lose the oil?
Someone who knows a load more about it than my tiny little bit will be able to show me where the claim is

That's a big ass generalisation! rolleyes
I stopped in a pub in Penrith last night with a crowd of fellow Scots to watch the match... we were all supporting England. I'm not a huge footie fan but don't tar us all with the same brush.
flipa
P.S. Betcha the goalie isn't feeling too clever today!! wink

i could add to the list innocent
As a short dark haired pale skinned woman tho may i point out that there are enclaves of the natives across the north of england too.
Of course there are.
The old name for the crag that Tynemouth Priory stands on is Penbal. It's a Welsh place name. Pen y Ghent? A Welsh name - they're all over the North.
