I can remember lots of threads last year about clubs and swinging abroad. I'm sorry but I disagree with the PM thing - I believe it is appropriate discussion for the cafe to talk about holidays.

You can chat about your holidays if you wish but asking people to name commercial clubs, hotels, bars etc. for members to attend No.
I have explained the reasoning to you via pm and it's been explained on the open forum, this time you'll just have to live with it.

Now before I get my face chewed off here, devils advocate ok?
I am a little confused about this whole debate, as I see it, someone says, â€œ Hi folks, we are off to Malaga next month, can anyone suggest any good nightspots / restaurants / swimming pools / health clubs / blah blah (delete as applicable).
And the problem with this isâ€¦â€¦â€¦â€¦.?
You are not seriously suggesting that this is a commercial interest thing are you? There could be a 1000 replies with a 100 different answers.
Or am I missing something and the subject has a conflict with some SH sponsor or other?
Genuinely lost here so just askin ok?

I don't understand it either. I am really not trying to be awkward here. People have mentioned clubs, hotels, bars etc in the past and it hasn't been a problem. Glad to hear I'm not the only one who is confused

We haven't got a sponsor! Where do you see a sponsor.
Just because it wasn't a problem doesn't make it a problem now. No need to be confused, the situation has been clarified now rather than left to hang around unspoken or unattended.

So how come the thread about Amsterdam on the "lets meet up" forum is ok? It mentions lots of hotels. I'm really not trying to cause trouble.

Cos it post-dates this decision - we can't go through the entire site and quarantine every single post which mentions a site/club. Wiping out the past doesn't help,

Having accepted the decision and had a reasonable explanation we can see the reason for it . Much like alot of the rules here its real hard to apply them at all unless they are applied across the board strictly . I was amongst those who wasn't keen on the free advertisement that was given to a certain 'Swingers Holiday Destination' in France and so I must of course agree with the real sentiment of the rule . Hell for all I know , all the fuss over that particular posting a few months ago may have been what led to the change in rules . It still has to be said that the original locking of the thread asking the question ( not ours ) was done pretty badly and with more sarcasm than clarification ( especially if the rule has been updated quite recently ) . That said its a fairly simple rule , and I suppose it makes sense .
Perhaps its time we drew a veil over it all and asked for any such information via PM or E-mail .

Thanks for that guys, we try our best, and as the site gets bigger and evolves more, we have to be more alert for these problems.
We have had to ban people for trying to advertise commercial ventures that are abroad, as well as in this country.
There just isn't any point in giving them any potential doors to creep through, or for starting the numerous complaints from the various hotels/guesthouses around the country who get banned on an almost daily basis for trying to plug themselves in one way or another.
I'm going to lock this now, if anyone wishes to make a comment pm me and it can be reopened if needs be.
