Apparently some people have been avoiding registering for the chatroom because they have assumed that there will be a charge to register. This is not the case. As with the rest of this site registration for the chatroom is FREE. We do not require any credit card or personal details of any kind to register you for the chatroom.
For a trial period we are introducing a ‘watershed’ on the chatroom and the need to have a registered nickname is going to be removed before 9pm. If you’ve been having difficulty understanding the registration process then please join the chatroom before 9pm and ask one of the chatroom ops to help you. It isn’t as difficult as some people seem to think it is and I repeat it’s FREE.
If the trial period for the ‘watershed’ is successful then we may make it permanent but if the place starts overfilling with dingbats* then we will be returning to registered nicknames only.
*dingbats can be any mixture of the following which have all been seen in the chatroom at one time or another:
People constantly changing nicknames
People constantly changing sex
People poaching for other chatrooms
Men pretending to be women/couples
Spammers (advertising other sites)
Trollers (pasting the same message over and over and over and over and over)
Racists
Bigots
Clones (people in the room under two nicknames)
Under 18’s
Abusive people
Escorts/prostitutes touting for business
Pay per view webcammers touting for business
People interested in or pictures of it
Journalists
People repeatedly sending private messages without asking
If we find any dingbats in the room then be warned, the chatroom operators will ban you……..permanently.
If a dingbat approaches any chatroom user by private conversation then please tell a chatroom operator who will be happy to deal with them for you.

How wonderfully polite of you to name these people dingbats .... a whole plethora of other names came to mind whilst reading the list and dingbat wasn't one of them ....

Your "Dingbat" list is missing the numpty who was in last night looking for a woman to crap on him...   (promptly booted and banned, thank goodness, I was eating my dinner at the time)
Ok I added my registration but am still waiting for an e-mail with my activation code!! DOes this take long??

For the moment you can just join by clicking the chatroom link and then entering a user name in the box and then clicking connect. Once you get there ask an op to help register you.
This may not last long though because we're being bombarded with people spamming another swingers site.

Not usually. The activation key e-mail is usually received within a couple of minutes. If you need to check that you typed your e-mail address correctly you can join Starchat help and they will check it for you. Enter the following command to get to Starchat help:
/join #starchat

The person with the @ in front of their name smile
Here`s a question (yes I did check the rules first!)
A person may not PVT without first asking on the main board, the only expection to this is the Sys ops may PM without first asking (if it`s board related)
but, if someone is bothering you, can you PM them without asking? I ask because a) I can`t keep up with the main room at times so may miss an ok from them, and b) I don`t want to yell about pains in the arses` in the main room.

If you need to pvt an op to complain about someone hassling you then that's fine as long as it's not just to complain that they sent you a pvt message without asking.
If you get any of the other types of dingbat listed above then we would prefer you let us know what's going on without announcing it in the main room. It gives us the time to check up on who they are and what they're doing without warning them off.
Steve
Thanks Steve, in my case it was a guy who PVTed without asking, but then carried on with a little sarcasm in the main room which, due to what was said privately, only I would likely know it was directed at me. It was no biggy, I just let it go, but it did raise the query.
Thanks smile
