Kit and I have had a number of e-mails from doggers who appear to have got our e-mail address from adverts on other dogging sites.
We are not members of, or have our details on any other site but this one. If any one on their wanderings sees an advert from us, be obliged if you would let us know.
Because frankly, if this is what is happening I am fucking angry about it.

May not be that someone has poached our details, poor bloke I was talking to was new to dogging and new to computers as well, been wandering around clicking and sending to all sorts of people. He may well have been in here and never knew it! but unlikely from the questions he was asking me.
Can't blame him, he wasn't to know.

Having read the thread> Request for help from doggers<, we thought we should mention we have received an email from a couple, who say they saw our ad on "BristolBoy messages".
The two concerns we have are:-
1. What is BristolBoy messages?
2. How did our ad appear on it?
Seeing as though we have only placed an ad on, and will only ever place an ad on the site we trust,
SWINGINGHEAVEN, we feel compelled to mention this, it is not a whinge, whine, moan, gripe, etc.
just a couple (who have yet to have a meet but have quite a few possibles from our ad no. 22179...............lol) who are concerned our ad may be being seen by the kind of people we don't want!!!
Hopefully we can get some info from the couple in question, in the meantime, if anyone could shed some light on the matter, i'm sure we, and maybe more, of our friends on, :worship: SWINGINGHEAVEN, would be most grateful.

I had that happen to me once. The occasional ICQ messages "I saw your ad..." got a little annoying after a while (mostly from men), but one early one struck gold. She was from Moscow, and it turned out that we had a few common interests and both didn't mind having a new friend to chat with. Our travels even managed to overlap in London for a few hours, wich we spent in innocent but enjoyable touristing. Then a few months later she changed job and lost internet access :-(
I never found out where the ad was, or what it said. Was it someone playing a trick on me, or an innocent typo from someone with a similar number? But I got a friend out of it, so no complaints from me.

I've never heard of Bristol boys, but it's very funny you should bring this up KitKat.. for the last couple of weeks I've been receiving one or two replies a day from people saying things like..."saw your ad, would love to join you" etc etc. At first I thought it wasn't unusual as I still get the odd one from ads I placed some time ago that are still live somewhere (although I do try to remove things that I'm not responding to any more! 
), normally I just reply and say "sorry, not looking any more, blah blah blah, or only looking for club meets, or whatever". Anyway, the unusual thing is the amount of them, and what they are asking for (they are asking for things I don't normally advertise for) like I said one or two or even more a day, which leads me to believe that people are responding to something that is recent. I certainly haven't posted anything recently, and the last one I did was some time ago for club meets only. That was my first thought.... perhaps someone with a new site trying to beef it up a little?
and there was I nearly convinced that I was just being paranoid.
I would ask then, anybody that is unsure about how someone has got their details, try and find out. See if we can muster the combined might of Swinging Heaven to solve this little mystery!

It seems to me that someone/thing is perhaps copying ads from this site and posting them somewhere else... is this possible ???

As far as i can see, that site is a gay web site, i am not homophobic, but i wouldn't advertise on a gay site, as we are looking for couples (see ad no. 22179............lol) sorry couldn't resist.
If our ad is being put on another site without our permission, can we do anything about it!!!!!

And can I say for the record, and I am sure everyone will agree with me, that I never once thought that any poaching of details that was going on had anything to do with you, the site, or anything you had or hadn't done.
I know that you do everything that can possibly be done to protect the information and the people on here. I personally feel very safe on this site, as I am sure others do too, and that is down to your own personal integrity and the way you run the site.
If there is anything in all this, it should serve to remind us why we choose to be on this site, and not other sites.
