Rethinking and/or updating your profile?

Varca your profile is great!! Your photos are brilliant as well - I have one measily picture :sad:
I think from what I can tell, having put up my first keyword profile (which has now gone) and got replies from a certain strain of SH folk, that yes people do read profiles. I do get emails now saying good luck, liked your profile as well. I know its only been a week I have been back but I think I have only seen about 6 penises out of a good few emails as I ask on my profile not to see them.
I think its nice to sit back and look at who you are and what you are saying about yourself on your profile even if tongue in cheek. I sometimes take mine down if I get too much attention and then write something completely different again because my mood is different from the time when I first wrote it. But then I like writing. If you don't and find it a struggle then maybe you won't. I have written a lot about hairy toes when I feel like being alone lol

If you are here to just meet and not chat in the forum or chatroom then a clearly worded once in a lifetime profile is for you then?

Actually, I have just completely re-written my profile. I have only just come back on here after quite a prolonged absence, so I reckoned it was time for a spring clean of the old profile. Plus, I am now seriously looking to meet - which hasn't always been the case in the past. So I hope that something of my personality comes across in my profile, so that anyone who contacts me is genuinely interested and, of course, I need them to be aware of my situation - which probably turns most of them off! rolleyes

I expect to revisit it and change it quite regularly.

We find it really hard to properly express what we really mean in our profile blurb but in the end its a case of doing our best and if anyone is interested and need to know more then they will ask.
One of the more interesting things I find is after chatting with a few people about how we operate as a swinging couple it is hard to get across that though I don't participate physically (I can do a mean headf*ck though biggrin

) J loves me to watch. Luckily I enjoy that too.
It is always good to have some blurb to read though rather than nothing. And it does at least give ideas on how to approach someone if mailing them

yep i update mine quite often, sometimes totally remove the text and just put only here socially at the min, have only recently put it back up and totally changed it
mine does depend on how i am feeling about being here and the effect that everyday life has on my time which is why sometimes it gets totally removed, that and sometimes i just get totally pissed off n remove it lol

The wierdest bit is when you start with:
"I'm not going to write an essay about me..."
and then 18 paragraphs follow... confused

It seems contradictory.
I guess it depends what kind of person you're trying to attract. If you want smart, confident guys (or girls) who think for themselves, they won't like the amount of control you try and place over them.. especially the bit about using a 'clueword' (bright) at the end. I think that's condescending and kinda reads 'submit to me and I'll consider you.' Unless you want submissive people I guess.
All too often I find profles say way too much about what I want you to do for 'me, me, me..!' and far less about what I can do for 'you'. But then I guess I'm not a single female on this site... I don't think.. last time I looked, anyway smile

Some of the best advice I ever got about profiles was, 'get the type of person you want to attract to write your profile for you as they'll obviously think like your target market'.
It works.. most of the time wink

To me, if people change their profile too much it says:
1) I spend too much time here
2) I'm having another crisis in my life (i.e. 'not meeting.. don't contact me' etc)
3) I'm really struggling to connect with anyone here so will try another approach
There's a balance I guess. Same with photos. 100's of them = same as 1) & 3) above. A few select shots - face, body and maybe a few naughty bits seem fine to me. Why would I wanna see the same shot taken from a different angle 17 times?
Just my thoughts. Like I say, I'm not a single female on here but I do have single female friends here and know that their Inboxes are regularly full of crap from people they would never meet in a month of Sundays, or who haven't read their profile.
Filters are good, barbed wire isn't :)

I often think I should change my profile, but then I figure it has served me well thus far.
Mine is a bit wordy, but that's me. My best meets are people I can/do converse with before (sometimes during!) and after fucking, so I guess it works that they get the picture from the start.
I must admit, 2010 is going to see me looking for slightly different things from any meets, so I will get round to updating my profile accordingly. I don't do the 'write this word or phrase in the subject line of your reply PM' because to be honest, I prefer to see how the person will persuade me they have read my profile. It's always obvious when they haven't and pleasantly surprising when they have.
Great idea about getting your target audience to write your profile Bloke! :thumbup:

i have changed mine a couple of times as i have 'grown' since joining this site, ive found my tastes have changed a little through new experiences, i know more about what i do and dont want, and try to reflect this in my profile, its not been so much about my moods but rather the changing me,
ive also had to be clear about what i dont want due to try to filter out those im not interested in (although im sure not everyone reads a profile thoroughly!! judging by those emails i still get that for instance want me to contact them on MSN when ive stated i dont do that) but i worry that it comes across as arrogant, how else can you be clear tho lol
as for pics ive tried to put a few up that represent my playful nature and have tried to be different from the norm, it is important to stand out i think and catch someones eye, and i do get a lot of positive comments
its a good idea tho BIoke to get someone else to write it for you if they know you well enough

I always check what my profile says to see if it's really relevant, and change it frequently.
