RIP Dave Allen

Just read on another site that comedian Dave Allen has died aged 68. Bollox, what a loss, I thought he was really funny. The Dave Allen Show was a must-watch for me as a kid. He was always one who dared to stick 2 fingers up in the face of political correctness....

Sad indeed.
Fave Dave Allen story?
The nuns at school tell him off for lying. Tell him to stick out his tongue and they say they can see a big black spot there, that's how they know he was lying.
So he runs to a mirror "I have the biggest willy in all Ireland!" he announces to his reflection. Then sticks out his tongue... no black spot! It must be true!

Yes, great comedian who could deliver a good yarn. It was they way he told them, always had the audiences attention. He'll be sadly missed.

He was such a dead pan comedy genius... looong before the likes of jack dee and Co. He was one of those comideans that ( me being cathoilic) made you look at religion and go hmmmmmmm maybe he is right dunno

that is one way of looking at that, ( whatever it was that he was saying at the time)...........and one of my favourite jokes of his was the one about smoking and non smoking compartments on trains and it goes:
" Have you noticed how there used to be non smoking compartments on trains?........now they have smoking compartments on trains.....and where are they?.....yep you guessed it one at the front and one at the back.......now have you ever heard of a train crash in the middlands??????"
Now i know that is now in bad taste due to all the crashes we have had in this country but you have to remember this was the sixties and we had a better train system then than what we have now.........

Indeed it is. I shall miss his wit and his unique view on life. Like Bill Hicks before him, he was taken from us way too early.
