Who died today aged 79.
Previously the star of in the 60's and 70's cult spy series and married to Michele Dotrice "Betty" in "Some Mothers Do 'ave 'em".
Another good old fine actor gone...
Oh! How very sad, I remember Callan, very anti establishment and anti hero.

Common as Muck - great show!
second series was a bit of a let down though
I remember Callan as a very small child its one of the first adult programs I can remember with the swinging light bulb  The Equalizer was watched religiously by my family when I was a teen and I remember watching Common as muck too. He also played a part in an American Sci Fi series with his son but the name of that escapes me at the moment.
Will be sadly missed
What a shame Edward woodward was a fine actor .
Can you folks remember him in the "equaliser" not the best of a series but his acting made up for it ,
and as for " the wicker man" totally terrifying when I first saw it years a go with a young Britt Eklund now who could resist her biggrin :D but he did .
Rip .. Mr woodward sadly missed another gr8 actor.
trav..
sad
I remember watching both The Equalizer and Common as Muck when I was a little bit younger too.
A great actor who will be sadly missed.
RIP.
I have always thought Edward Woodward was a fine actor after getting "hooked" on Callan in the late 60s.
Would be great to see a rerun as a tribute to him.
cremation?
lp
A brilliant actor who was always good to watch. Tweaky was it "La femme Nikita" that you are thinking of??
He was also in "Hot Fuzz" another great film biggrin
