I know this may have been done before - but I think warrants some fresh research.
I've noticed one or two people express the opinion that 'I like to be taken hard and with some urgency.'(Rough)
It occurs to me that if you are the type that likes to approach things in a sensual and gentle way (Smooth) that you might be a serious disappointment to a person that likes it rough.
Is it possible that when expressing a preference people are merely saying how they feel at that moment and that given the right circumstances they would be receptive to either Rough or Smooth.
What do you think?

'Seems right on the occasion' for me but generally, if I'm with someone for the first time I'll almost invariably take the Smooth path. I need to know someone quite well before Rough.

By 'rough', I'd read 'urgent, frantic, fast and furious' though. Depends on your interpretation of 'rough', I suppose.

I suppose it is whatever feels right... but I'm more likely to want "rough" than "smooth."
I associate smooth with intimate, meaningful sex... I associate rough with purely physical, 'meet' sex. I usually want the latter with a relatively anonymous person I have met on a site like this.
Smooth sex has its place - namely in the morning or after a good rough session :twisted:
And I would only get really rough (i.e. more BDSM stylee) with someone I trusted implicitly. There aren't many who fit that bill, so it doesn't happen often. Great when it does though!
I think it sometimes depends on how I feel about the other person. There are some guys who I would feel very weird being soft and gentle with me and others who it would feel weird if they took me hard and fast. Although most of the time it's to do with how I feel at that moment.
And the moment can be very short. Ages of soft and gentle then "take me hard NOW". I'm sure the poor darlings get very confused sometimes.

I can be rough, I can be smooth, as has been said, it is very much a mood thing, but the better the connection I have with someone, the rougher it can be.
