Hi all, genuine question - the wife has for some time expressed a wish to
a) watch another couple having sex (and possibly join in) and
b) dance & strip for another man/men (and possibly go further)
She's had some limited experience of both scenarios but not for some time and we've been talking about such things more lately - hence the reason for joining SH. Anyway, her 30th birthday is coming up in the next few months and amongst other things I want to give her a really special treat but would arranging something like this as a total surprise be a good idea or could it backfire in ways I haven't thought of. If so, how could I arrange something suitably saucy without giving too much away and spoiling it? I'd be truly grateful for any feedback.

Had thought about a club or something (a male friend had already suggested it) but we have never been to one and would probably feel quite awkward turning up to the party empty handed as it were. Is it conventional/acceptable to go somewhere to have a look and possibly not join in at all? Seriously, how would anyone know we weren't just being nosey?

Oh there's absolutely no need to feel awkward at all - and you would realise that within about 5 mins of walking in to a club
Not everyone plays once they get there - it's also a good place just to go and have a chat to people that are into the scene. The bar areas, from my experience are busy and friendly.
Then if you feel like it, you can go and have a wander around the play areas, see what it's like etc ......... just enjoy yourselves, have a really nice time doing what the pair of you want to do, making sure you both stay well within your comfort zones and boundaries.
Personally I would advise you to both set your initial boundary to zero playing. Then the pressure is off of you, you can sus a place out ........ and if you enjoy it, theres always a next time when you can pre-arrange a new boundary 8-)

Well you know there's a curiosity there - so I would go with Osmosisesises (what's the bluddy plural?
) suggestion. Although I would be inclined to say to her at the beginning of the evening that the night is cleared for just you two together, and say what you've got planned.That way you can chat about it over a nice meal, then you can both share that excitement and nervousness of venturing into a club
What a nice thing to do for a birthday present. 
I would be a little careful about making it a complete surprise, though. If she's at all nervous about any of this, then she might panic if it's too sudden. I do like Missy's idea of telling her at the start of the evening - that gives her time to think about it without any pressure, and back out if she's not happy.

There's some really good advice here.
I would take her out for a lovely meal first, then after a few drinks, maybe in the middle of the meal, tell her that there's a swingers' club nearby and tell her abotu some of the things you have heard happen there. You will straight away know whether she's interested or not. If she is, let her know you've already planned to take her there after the meal, if not, then at least you've had a ncie night out!

Just been taking a look at this link, found in the "clubs and parties section, which may interest you. Though I have no idea if it is any good.
Which seems to be in your neck of the woods. There's a phone number to call as well so you can have a chat to the owners to allay any concerns you have.
