Tonight we have been searching for a new Avatar & so we both sat here armed with laptop each & I Googled while Vert2go 'd biggrin
Vert2go entered "swingers avatar" & pages & pages (50 all told) of Swinging Heaven Avatars were on display
Vert2go pointed out someone & asked if this was .....
then he spotted my old av pic of my ass
It was then that we both sat & went through the pages & recognised a lot of the pictures.
I suppose if nothing else beware when posting an avatar of what is showing in the pic, something that could identify you.
We all know the risks of putting pictures on the internet but I for one didnt realise the importance of vetting my avatar & where it may just turn up! confused
yeah I know people often see mine and recognise me..... rolleyes
I see this rolleyes & it reminds me of you wink
I'd rather this hump ........................ biggrin
The same can be said by any forum post you've ever made! Big brother internet spiders are watching you......
I realise this, but we are less likely to be identified by a post on a forum than a facial picture on an avatar rolleyes
I hope no-one recognises me from my bum biggrin
Its not very often you can say 'Big brother internet spiders' in one sentance often.
You'll have to have words next to the image ie. forum name, email address, forum text or just the image name to make a random and often small image to be recognisable in real life.
You can take avatar pics from anywhere and they don't have to be of yourself. Take heart that your bottom pic could of been anybodies.
MY avatar is a cartoon image of me. The bloke is just some random chap picked for his rugged appearance in order to make me look lovely and fluffy and feminine!!
lol
But there are two blokes in your avatar Jags. One is kneels before you with two hands cleary visible. Who's is the third hand that is creeping up the bottom of your leg there?

He's the one I rejected as being inferior for the purpose and he's raising his hand in supplication!

So your that one solatery hand isn't really supporting the suggestion that you are indeed standing (with high heels on obviously) on a carpet of men, whilst allowing a select few to work their way up your body one at a time. The third hand we can see is actually just second in line of another half a dozen more pairs waiting their turn.

You know me so well Matt - it's scary!! A carpet of men over whom I walk is a very tempting and exciting thought (only you could conjure it up) but it's the queue for my favours which is displayed. You, of course, are in the lead queue!

Google and most of the other search engines will crawl and digest every written word posted on the Internet and images get associated with with alt text and any text around them, although the different search engines serve up their results in different ways, some better than others.
Its good for SH in that people find out about the site through many different search queries, but its worth remembering that its never wise to post anything on an open forum that you wouldn't want the rest of the world to see, as that is the way of the Internet.
look "steve"
see how I did that.... rolleyes
