How many times do we here the words "dont tell anyone"
and are then told someone elses business!!
Done it myself, so not preaching here!
I was once told the biggest secrest ever by a now ex friend. She revealed all whilst upset and drunk.
Even though we do not have anything to do with each other now, it was said in trust.
I would never reveal what she said, as damage would then occur to all involved.
I actually feel good about the way I have never spilt the beans, I can chat for England, and can be loose lipped too when a bit tipsy!
Goes back to basics really, if you do not want anyone to know your business, do NOT tell one person!
Lucys post.
i too have had secrets told to me by several members of the site.....i dont know what it is but people feel that5 i am th sort of person they can confide in..
i know what you mean when you say you feel very honoured...i consider it a high honour and priviledge to have been told the thimgs i have, and i do take that honour extremely seriously.
I take great pride in having their trust, and would never do anything to betray that trust....things that are told to me via SH pm are dleted when read, as are my replies, so that not even mr Bone sees them.
He doesnt use the forums and doesnt know the people involved, so doesnt need to see what they post privately to me.
i take every secret i am told to the grave.

Totally agree with you there Mrs B. Once someone tells me to keep something a secret it never gets mentioned, even if I know someone else has been told and I happen to know that person too.
Whilst the sharing of a secret may apppear to signify a deep sense of trust, and would suggest a bonding of those concerned; it is a fragile assumption to make in many cases.
Someone, somewhere is passing on the buck and at some point the secret will out. Thus giving the originator several layers and some sense of concealment about their deceit. Who's going to be the one to finally spill the beans?
So secrets are best never heard in the first place.
I once shared a secret told to me in the strictest confidence to a best mate...
only to find that she knew about it already! confused
What pissed me off was the fact she had the temerity not to share it with me!
If two people now a secret, it is not a secret for long.
Boy am I paranoid.
Does anybody disclose information solely to one other person? I stopped believing that happened a long long time ago.
Never ever ever tell me a secret ......I have a nasty habit of disclosing them at the worst moment

Yep. I disclose all my secrets to Mrs Bonedigger. It's a luxury to have someone you can trust implicitly.

Hehe - like they say..
"I can keep a secret. It's just the people I tell that can't!"
.
I tell most of my secrets to MrG but even he doesn't know everything  I have no real close female friend I can confide in. He is completely trustworthy though when I need to share with someone.
