Sex when you have Prostate Cancer

My husband Paul has been diagnosed with Prostate Cancer. I would like to know from people who have had the same problem and how they have come through it. We’ve had all the booklets but they don’t address it from a swinging prospective. I have cuckolded Paul for years (with a regular guy). We might have been naive thinking he had Erectile Dysfunction due to age not thinking it could be a more serious reason. Paul is waiting for another scan before he can start hormone therapy, starting radiotherapy later.

So my questions are:

How will his sex drive be affected?

Will he have the desire during his treatment and/or after treatment is finished?

What mental impact might it have on him along with side effects, mainly regarding the changes in sex?

How will it impact on my sex life. Should I pause cuckolding him?

Right now, I do not have cancer of the prostate, however I do have an Benign Prostate Hyperplasia (an enlarged Prostate) that causes issues. So not exactly the same as your Husband, but similar.

To answer your questions from my perspective:

His Sex drive is unlikely to be affected as that is done by the Brain, but his performance may be affected (mine is).

Once pain free, I would imagine the desire will be there even if the body is not so willing.

He may lack confidence.

Definitely (speaking for myself) do not pause cuckolding him. Without Viagra, I struggle big time to perform, but I do love seeing my wife enjoying herself on another cock and I would be disappointed if she didn't get sexual pleasure just because of my problems.

Thanks for your reply, The way we see it is the medication is the problem, hormone treatment takes away a mans testosterone which is said to be the mans sex drive. Since I asked this question we have seen the oncologist who has explained the way its works is the medication makes the brain stop sending the signal to produce testosterone.

After radiotherapy he'll stop producing semen, so will have dry orgasms. The hormone therapy is likely to make him rather weak and depressed. Radiotherapy can cause rectal damage, it might be worth investigating getting an injection of spacer gel to help protect the rectum.

Hi Rachel, I have had hormone treatment followed by 20 sessions of radio therapy for prostate cancer. The main side effect as others have said is dry orgasms following radio therapy. He will also probably suffer hot flushes during and following the hormone treatment, but they will diminish after the course finishes. I was prescribed viagra by my GP to help with the erections which works great. After 2 years I am now producing a very small amount of semen, but it is clear. Paul should still be able to enjoy sex, but will probably miss the shooting of loads of spunk. I miss it, but fantasise having another cock spunking on mine so I can relive the feeling and the sight of it. Don’t stop cuckolding if Paul enjoys it, I wish my wife would cuck, then I could have sloppy seconds. Jim xx

Have you looked into Focal Therapy - it was on the BBC News on 17th July - readily available in London & the South East

A less invasive therapy for prostate cancer is just as effective as surgery or radiotherapy but with a lower risk of side effects, a major study suggests.

The treatment, named focal therapy, uses high-intensity ultrasound or freezing cryotherapy to destroy cancerous tissue.

A 10-year NHS study led by Imperial College London followed nearly 3,500 men who received the therapy, providing long-term data that medical regulators had previously said was missing.

Researchers say the results are "excellent" and they are likely to add to pressure for focal therapy to be made more widely available.

Nearly all the men had intermediate or high-risk prostate cancer - but 10 years after treatment only two had died from the disease.

These outcomes are as good as surgery or radiotherapy, but with less than half the risk of side effects such as urine leakage or loss of sexual function.

Joint senior author Prof Hashim Ahmed, consultant urologist at Imperial College London and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, said the findings demonstrated that "focal therapy delivers excellent long-term cancer control across a broad range of patients".

"It makes a compelling case for more centres to offer this treatment," he added.

Focal therapy was introduced more than 20 years ago but at present only about 1,000 men a year in the UK receive it - despite there being up to 15,000 who could benefit.

The therapy is not suitable for men whose cancer is in multiple parts of their prostate or has spread beyond the gland.
