Does it exist? are we all addicted? Are there clinics to help us kick the habit...do we want to kick it? Browsing on a Sunday afternoon I just read this
Sexual addiction is generally characterised by behaviour that feels out of control. This behaviour might include:
excessive use of pornography
compulsive masturbation
exhibitionism
voyeurism
fetishes
high-risk sex
prostitution
telephone or internet sex
multiple affairs
anonymous sexual encounters'

Help I think I'm addicted (in a small way of course)! sad
HR xx
I think the key words there are 'out of control'. As long as you are in control, how can it be addiction?
Not always easy to tell if we're in control or if its in control of us. confused

I suppose that depends on what sort of person you are really. I know I'm in control, ergo not addicted.
Sometimes I feel really out of control lol
I don't think I could give it up and an addiction is usually something you find difficult to give up.
I couldn't imagine life without it. Not just the sex but everything that goes around it.
Im addicted, Im addicted :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
Now where do I get a 'fix'??
:giggle:
I wouldn't describe my sexual activity as an addiction simply because its just about the most natural thing in the world. It would be like saying I'm addicted to breathing or eating.
I suppose you can participate in so much sex in so many ways that it harms you or others. If that happens and you carry on regardless then I suppose it ought to be rightly described as an addiction, compulsion or dependence.

don't all addicts say that they are in control?
- 'I can give it up any time I want'

Oh OK then, you're absolutely correct of course and I shall go away and ask for forgiveness. Silly me, thinking I know myself!

I was watching a documentary on Friday night I think it was about sex addiction. I think it's a combination of all of the above that makes the addict and we're talking on a daily basis, the masturbation itself normally takes place two, three times a day and that's without the visits to prositutes. We as swingers prob have one or two of the list, I'm personally a little bit voyeuristic in that at meets I quite like to watch Jay having fun  but that doesn't make me a sex addict.
Being a sex addict isn't about the act itself it's an illness, a mental issue and normally the sufferer has something deep routed from their past.
Us as swingers can control our behaviour, luckily (well most of the time wink )

You're right, but I'm loving it and right now I'm studying sexual health believe it or not!
If you're addicted to Heroin you get Methodone on prescription. So if you want to 'get off' sex (now that's a pun that's worth playing with LOL) what will you get on prescription? A Rampant Rabbit? What about the guys?

A fleshlight thingymabob? dunno the torch thing with lips
To feed an addiction you need a 'fix' and you keep seeking out that fix. For me a mechanical fix just isn't the same! A real live human being or beings are the only answer.
I'm certainly not giving up my addiction....a life without sex  Unimaginable. Anyone available for a fix?

I am not addicted to sex. I have an incredibly strong sex drive and I enjoy a very healthy sex life.
I have been in relationships where I have not flourished as much as I should have due to the other persons libido not matching mine. I ended these relationships for reasons which included the mis-matched sex drive. They may have considered I was addicted to sex, but I do not.
Now ecstatically happy with my lover, husband, soul mate and life long partner (Yes I am talking about ONE person biggrin ) who has a sex drive equal to mine.
We enjoy sex. Often.
As I see it, addictions need some kind of resolution. I am resolute to enjoying my high sex drive and consider myself to be incredibly lucky to have been blessed in this way.
