Now I had to go and search it out on an internet shop and stuck in topiary, first thing that came up was this...honest

I have no clue what's going on here, how I got here, nowt. I've just realised it, just a little late, as usual. I've been busy in a dark room for a while now, with occasional visits from someone soft and supple.
I come out with my purple wand in hand and find that the person that was shouting for it has now disappeared?
Can someone give me a potted history on what I have missed, or do I need to sneak into the diary room and read everyoneâ€™s diaries?
