One of the issues with the current version of chat is that its based on a flash application on your PC which has to communicate constantly with our servers, any disruption can cause disconnection issues, not to mention the affect that some firewalls can have, also we have not been able to add any new features due to this unstable nature.
So whilst the new chatroom will be similar in many ways it has been written in a different language to allow us to add things later on such as the ability to block certain people from whispering, this will come after we are satisfied that its stable for everyone. Flash will still be used to display the cams, but everything else will not rely on flash, so if a person has an issue running flash only the cams will stop, everything else should still work.
The cams can be set to display pretty much as they are at the moment, but there's options to make them bigger and better resolution which will work ok if your PC is up to it and if your connection allows it, also the connection of the person on cam could limit the quality of the display, but when connections allow it should be a whole lot better.
The pop out is an option, the cams can either be viewed in line as there are at the moment, or popped out and moved around, it should be handy for some with large monitors.
There's a fair amount of testing needed yet and we will be seeking feedback to make it as good as possible.

I just checked and everyone should get the newsletter, however the system doesn't send them to everyone at once, it crawls through each member adding the newsletter, at the moment its about 10% of the way through.

is this why when i try to expand the screen it sometimes does that bloody adobe script error?
The 'work around' for this is to Clear Chat before re-sizingthe chat window. It works 99% of the time.
