Going back about 4 months ago I decided to loose some weight so that for the first time in God knows how long I could be within my BMI. Ive lost a fair amount of weight just under 2 stone. For my efforts I have had the follwing roughly
10 x Are you Ill?
5 x Dont loose any more
3 x Is life stresful right now?
1 x You look better for it
Mrs Tweeky as some of you may know is a self conscious type and worrys about her weight. The worst thing anyone can say to her as far as Mrs Tweeky is concerned is "You look well" Mrs Tweeky is of the opinion "well" = fat. In conclusion looking at the comments I have got above then I guess I have to concur that "well" does indeed mean fat and that shock horror woman can be right.

Tweeky, Your unhealthy looking friend (But at least Im not "well" wink )
I can concur...
I have lost 10 kilos over the course of 12 months and I really feel better for it. This weight loss has been as a result of better eating in the main - Français style
Now, almost all of our French friends and other expats here have been complimentary about it and on a recent visit to UK, so were our English friends.
I have to say that when I was "fat" I was perhaps more jolly but my aviation medical examiner told me that my target weight should be what I was when I was in my 20's (and I'm not far off that now - but we were having sex 4 times a day then!)
It's a lifestyle thing. Forget about other people; it's how you feel that matters at the end of the day...
If I were to say Mrs T looked as fit as f**k how would she see that ;-)

Indeed! I am not a person who is overly bothered about how others perceive my physical appearance. I did this for me and I do feel lots better for it biggrin I am now able to run for more than 10 seconds smile
Steve, will pass your comment on in just a moment lol
Kent, Google says 10 kilograms = stone
More used to pounds and ounces......kilos are not my strong point. lol
Hi, same thread but a different tack. Madame Smooth2 has lost over 3 stone xx kg in the last 4 months or so from her over 20 stone. She feels great with it and is moving differently and looks good on it. We are waiting for someone who does not know her circumstances to say "You've lost weight, what diet are you using?" Sadly the answer will be "The Cancer Plan". Still she's responding to the chemo well and we hope she can keep it off.

I'm a loser too!
I've lost 32 lbs since 1st May and I feel fantastic for it. I'm trying not to buy clothes just yet but I've dropped two dress sizes (almost three) so I've had to buy a couple of bits and pieces. There's only so many extra holes you can put in a belt without looking like you're wearing someone else's clothes. lol
Friends and family have been hugely supportive of me... I hired a personal trainer cause I needed the motivation. However, my mum has been incapable of commenting on my weight tactfully and I've listened to the "you'd be stunning if only you were thin" comment for, oh about 20 years. rolleyes She means well but its not always heard that way.
I have the odd person saying that I shouldn't lose any more but I have to say, it becomes addictive. I feel brilliant and I'm loving throwing clothes out, well to charity, but I'm fairly determined not to keep anything that's too big. One of the partners at work was clearly feeling very awkward about mentioning it. He blurted out that I'd lost quite a lot of weight and when I told him how much he had no idea what to say. If you don't know how to deal with these sort of situations then keep your gob shut!!
I just got to the stage where I was feeling really uncomfortable. I also used to be hugely intimidated by gyms. Now I just don't care. I enjoy the gym and I love to swim so doing that four times a week is an absolute joy... especially now that I've joined a health club with a lovely pool. I don't give a monkies about what other people think of my shape/size any more whereas I used to worry about that. I'm much healthier and feel great about being able to shop wherever I like!
Anyway... I'm rambling now... what was the question?! Oh, women being right... of course, what took you so long to figure it out?!
And Smooth... I hope MrsSmooth has a speedy recovery! kiss
Next you'll be watching Gok and How to Look Good Naked!!!
It's a slippery slope.......................
Have you tried vertical stripes yet??

Don't you just love it when you lose weight and some tosser says - 'Yes I can see if in your face' lol
I love Gok Wan.
And yes, I look well. lol
I'm not very happy with my weight/size/shape at the moment, but lack the motivation to do anything about it. I did loose loads through stress, but since I've reached for the cream cakes rather than the trainers. I hate running anyway, it makes my boobies bounce. confused
*goes on a swimming pool hunt*
I love him too! lol
Lets go swimming together Gem.
I really need to loose some weight. Having lost 2 stone last Spring/Summer I have since put 3 1/2 back on, but starting Weds a friend and I are embarking upon a two month - two stone challenge, as it will be two months until we go back to Ibiza.
Ok, sounds like a plan. smile I need an excercise buddy, especially now that its the summer time and I'm prone to attacks of the feckits.
Two stones in two months? Is that achieveable/realistic?
Aww Mr Tweeky, well done you, and I promise never to say you look 'well' wink but I know the feeling. I have lost virtually 4stone and I either get ignored by people I have not seen in ages, or they ask me if I am ill  I still want to lose another stone (but cant be bothered doing much about it at the moment, and happy with just maintaining) but the amound of people who say not lose any more. Its so bloody frustrating.
Anyway, Im doing it for me and if I look 'well' or look ill, who cares as long as I am happy with how I look and feel in myself
