After reading all the debate about free or fee paying members, I do believe that sh should have a history about free members so that new members know before joining that there are free members here prior 2005 that it was why the site become big enough to sell in the first place. I was miffed at first but knowing the facts I would still have paid and not questioned the free members being here. Years ago I also done a thread about the same subject I wasn't against free members but belived to be told would have been nice. It is not a pleasant read when free members say we were here first, if you don't like it don't pay go.
Free or Paying members we are intitled to have a voice.
I personally believe admin has caused this confusion not the members.
Would it just be easy to have all the information before hand to make a more informed choice to pay or not?
It's a swing site and not the history of my local town or the industrial revolution. Can't see it being necessary myself.
Personally I wasn`t aware there were free memebers when I first joined and it wouldn`t of changed my mind one bit.
I think whatever happened before I joined had no relation to what I wanted from the site at the time.
I joined a dance class, gym ,swimming baths etc and didn`t ask for a history, I don`t think its relevant.
Am sat here wondering !!!!!
If it was of such importance as to if anyone was a free member or not.
Why has nobody posted that they asked before joining.
If you dont ask such a life changing question before you sign up, I cant see you have a complaint afterwards.
Its only a bloody website after all.
I pay for my single male profile and if others get it free then good luck to them.
After all, if it wasnt for those that got here first and made the site a success,no bugger would be here. JMHO
Why should the history make any difference to those joining the site though?
Surely new members join and pay based on what the site is or can provide for them NOW not what it was.
Similarly, those that don't like the sites membership policy will vote with their consumer "feet" and leave it? Won't they??
Or just bemoan the fact???
The point about it is that there is a 'bloody' history which ran for almost a year whilst all sorts of things happened. So how would this be presented? Is a short synopsis adequate?
Do you ask a potential member to wade through reams of forums? Because after all if you want the 'truth', and want them to choose with a fair and open mind; it seems only fair to advise them to see what actually happened.
Its not what free members were presented with on joining the site.
